  • Great Video. Let's be honest, though There generally is "some" truth to stereotypes.

As a white male, people believe I discipline my kids by giving them "time outs." I can't dance. I'm crazy for cliff climbing, and sky diving. Ever see a black man cliff climb..or see an all black sky diving Club? I love everyone in this video, and they are right. But, blacks stereotype their own all the time. (Clarence Thomas).

  • Sadly there is no real solutions to if people want to be different than others or grouped with others in spiteful ways. Some times it is a good thing and some times a bad thing to be grouped. In being the same or different it is all individual choice. Now the only thing I see as a solution is to search for the truth and look at each individual's heart/ mind/ character.

  • Regarding the question "how do we stop the stereotypes:" What if we knocked down the What if members of the group in question didn't refer to their group as "we" or "us" or "our people?" If the ultimate goal here is for all people to be seen equal - or, as Dr. King put it, "to be judged not by the colour of skin, but by the content of character" - how are we ever to reach it if "we," "us," or "our people" doesn't refer to EVERYONE?

  • Regarding the question "how do we stop the stereotypes:" What if we knocked down the double standards? For example, what if we didn't single out people of a group or the group itself for any regard, POSITIVE or negative? If a person makes a great contribution to humanity, regard them simply as a great humanitarian, NOT someone who has made great achievements for the African-american/Latino/Asian/etc community.

  • Regarding the question "how do we stop the stereotypes:" What if we knocked down the double standards? If you disregard negative stereotypes (Blacks don't tip, Asians can't drive, etc), you must also disregard positive assumptions (Blacks are the best athletes/musicians, Latinos are the best lovers, etc).
