@NICKLADD In Scotland they do not have Moose but they do have Elk and Deer. An Elk is an Elk and a Moose is a Moose regardless of it's nationality. You wouldn't call a Dog a Wolf or a Wolf a Dog. Or a Wildcat (Lynx) a Lion or a Cougar (Mountain Lion) a Wildcat.

Moose are called Elk in Europe because our type of Elk doesn't exist there & they call them different names because a similar species called the Red Deer lives there which is similar to an Elk in behaviour & appearance but with some colour differences & the fact that Red don't bugle while Elk do.
