  • She reminds me so much of Lea Salonga.

  • She's so good!

  • This is a little over three years ago, it is astounding, as good as she sounded in this, the progress she has made. Her voice and acting has matured tenfold. Well done, Emily!

  • extremely well done! great expression!

  • I could listen to this woman sing ANYTHING! A bright future for sure

  • better done in an opera style, gives it more boom and tune. but the lady is charming

  • Wow... so good.

  • brilliantly performed. i'm singing this in regional competitions this autumn and i'm in love witht he piece. it's not easy and you do it very well! congrats.

  • amazing

  • I love this version.

  • I don't know why this one isn't the most popular performance after the original. Hands down the best version on youtube.

  • Easily the best interpretation i've seen on youtube. =]

  • amazing amazing amazing

  • I fell in love with this song a month ago and now I am in love with this wonderful performance. I know I one day I will see this splendid actress/singer in a Broadway Musical. Bravo!

  • i performed this song at college and loved it. i think this is definately my favourite version though. you act it so well. i will be listening out for your name on broadway.

  • you definitely rival audra mcdonald with this performance - congrats!

  • how are you so amazingly good?!

    <3 it

  • I like this version. I really like Colleen Ballinger's version as well. I can't choose.

  • I have seen a LOT of performances of this song.

But I have NEVER seen it done like that.

I am stunned. Wow. Amazing. No more words. Thank you!

  • This is amazing. So captivating. I literally couldn't pull my eyes away, sooo well done!! :)

  • LOVED IT!!!

Your voice is gorgeous and your acting is so natural. A lot of people fall under the trap of overacting with this musical, but yours had the subtlety to it and I sincerely believed your character. Keep up the good work!

  • I did this song too and Im DYING to play kesa in see what i wanna see, youre incredible!!!

  • You look so wistful at the end, It was amazing. Beautiful.

  • Nice job. You definitely understand life as expressed in the second verse. That verse comes through the best. Awesome voice and look. Keep with it -- you're a star in the making.

  • Totally agree. The second verse was by far the best.

  • You're so the next Lea! ;-)

  • REALLY good!

Acting and singing were both top notch!

I really hope you make it on broadway!

  • You are amazing! I love your voice and character in this song =) great job!

  • you did an amazing job :)

  • This is one of my favorite versions of this song. It's so genuine with emotion from beginning to end. Perfectly sung and acted...not overacted or an imitation! Keep up the great work

  • go bigbird!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I can't help but love her singing this.

  • you are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo right

  • this is excellent. at first i was questioning her acting ability but I realized as the song progress her rendition of this song was incredible and its a great contrast to the original recording. I got chills at least twice, great job!

  • girl, you did such an awesome job!!!! I've done this show before and the way you sang this song, I understood the message of the song more! This is a difficult song to learn lots of words and the rhythm is not so easy to learn! Very nice interpretation or rendition, and I can hear you hear your end consonants clearly:)! GOOD LUCK ON ALL YOUR FUTURE SHOWS:)

  • I'm lovin' your voice.

  • I have to say that this is very believable and you have a beautiful voice. I have to disagree with most comments here because this is just great. Not as good as Audra McDonald, but then again it's Audra McDonald.

    Great Job

  • her acting is good you dont know what your tlking about

  • she does this song brilliantly interpretations are good and she naild this one so dont discourage her from bringing herself to the role its always good

  • beautiful interpretation. so different to any performance i've seen (granted... i've only seen this song on youtube). gorgeous and consistent voice. i can't wait to see this girl more in future. and i know no one's said this but i have to because i can... she is very pretty.

  • wow .. i love this song .. my mate did it in her grad show and really got me into it ... your voice is amazing i wish i had it .. i have done a version of this song but i dont have a recording ... Amazing though i loved it! x

  • pretty good. i think i like audra mcdonald's version better. emily's emotions were a bit off. she seemed sad in the beginning, when thats not supposed to occur til the end. she really pulled it together though.

  • the beuaty of a revue is that there is virtually no story line, except the lines. so pretty much it is up for a variety of interpretations. and how could you ever compare anyone to audra? she's not of this world haha. this girl does a beautiful job.

  • Amazing again, I'm overwhelmed by your talent. And you go to Brown university, that is absolutely stunning. You are offically my new favourite person.

    x

  • wow you sound just like lea salonga....cool!

  • I am totally amazed at how well this song was done. The best I've ever seen...You need to be on broadway!!

  • ya a little to classical and alot of overacting...dont speak the whole song or it ruins it

  • wow, you're amazing!! haha my username is from this musical, I love JRB! you're crazy talented, keep singing :)

  • "Wayy too classical sounding. Plus, there wasn't enough actually singing"

What? This is singing. This woman is amazing!

  • I agree with craaazy4cows. Wayy too classical sounding. Plus, there wasn't enough actually singing. She was too overemotional. She was kinda talking through most of it. Just my opinion.

  • well since your username suggests your a theatre lover, then you have to remember: she may look overemotional but from the audiences p.o.v. live, she looks great, and her diction is fine. that's exactly how it should be, really great performers never look that great on tape, that's why they perform live. and she didn't speak through most of it, and besides if you sing each note exactly as written it sounds boring, so think before you speak, as for ms. emily: a wonderful performance.

  • wow, great performance of this song! your emotional range is superb, you gave the song depth i hadn't seen before in it. you go, girl!

  • this is greatt!!! you're gonn'a make it!!

one of my fav vocal things : lived his life out on the road...fire and passion always showed

    congrats!!!

  • ....and on "planned" and under"stand."

  • She has a nice voice, but needs to work on her vowels, especially on the word "man." Those were painful.

  • I loved her voice! It has power. It reminds me of Lea Salonga in Miss Saigon.

  • One of the best videos of this song I've found. Great job!

  • great voice! I liked her interpretation but her diction sounded too classically trained for this piece. It really is pop.

  • I thought is was one of the best performances of this song I have ever seen! Really made me believe what she was singing about!

  • I dont really like her interputation..I also dont know if I spelled that right...it didnt have the right emotion for me..

  • so good. loved the transitioning from man to man. nicely done!
