thisis a powerfull song. Its powerfull because its simple in its explanation of complex things. Its clever because it can be interpretated in many ways. This is one of my favorite songs. For me its about being connected to someone but actually not feeling that you are and that there is a void. I think that Tori Amos is so over looked and that is a pity as in my humble opinion she is a genius.

i'm getting that idea from her book Piece by Piece where she talks about how it takes a month for the Bose to get back to England on a boat.

I can see Tori being sad about not seeing her fave piano for a month and she would kiss the piano goodbye and be attached to it in a way that she would hope the boat ride was safe and people handled her piano well...
