Fuck that is a horrible trailer. I saw the film on late night telly about fifteen years ago, it's really good. Theresa Russell is totally, hypnotically beautiful.
Why do they do these shitty trailers? Haven't seen The Road yet but the trailer looks sooo bad - but I do know that some of the footage (inc the whole premise for the end of the world!) is only in the trailer, not in the actual movie. Fucking morons.
Btw the poster for Straight Time (on the Wikipedia entry) is a bit better.
Does the announcer get payed to repeat the same thing all over again? He sounded quite bored as if "Ok,do I have to repeat this all over again? (yawns)"

I understand Dustin Hoffman sued Warner Bros. over the way the film was handled, from seeing this trailer with endless voiceover repeat I can see why. Yes, its a pretty damn good crime drama, with great work from Hoffman and the cast. Co-written by Edward Bunker from his book, he was the famous ex-con who became a writer on his release so he knew his stuff. Played Mr. Blue in "Reservoir Dogs" and has a cameo here too. Don't let the trailer put you off.
This trailer would love for us to believe that this is a comedy film
