  • I now live in LA, but I grew up in Ft. Worth watching WFAA. I miss these two anchors so much. LA news is so depressing.

  • The downtown Dallas skyline at night.

  • There used to be a video of the 1991 close (same video ending) but a different theme. I wonder what happened to it.

  • Wow and i was born in 1992 and so i grew up watching them XD

  • the awesome aerial shots from Chopper 8 at the end is timeless.

  • Wow...how long have John and Gloria been there? This was taped before I was born, so I'm not familiar with the tenure of these people.

  • Everybody in Waco still watches channel 8 dunh dunh dun

  • Thank you both for your comments. :)

  • they still do the news together on WFAA/NEWS8

  • Isn't it great, though, to think they've been with us all these years (and hopefully, for many more to come.) Observation: If WFAA were smart, they'd do some sort of "Then & Now" -themed ad campaign.

  • Lol, I remeber this theme song very well as a kid

  • I have been a huge fan of WFAA's theme music for as long as I can remember, from this theme, to "The Spirit (Of Texas)" (versions 1 and 2) by Stephen Arnold in the late 90s and early 2000s, to "Evolution" (which is a ringtone on my cell phone :) ) and "Propulsion". I like this theme in particular because it mixes very well the contemporary (for the time) percussion (harmony) with the orchestral brass (melody), and it's just so uniquely Texan.

  • Don't forget TM's Spirit..especially that first version with the vocal opening.

  • So have I. I still watch WFAA today.
