  • How long should I keep the static stretch after the resistance band moves? Thank you Paul!

  • hey ppl. please search sanctband :) exercise bands and therapy bands. :)

  • How many years did it take to you to stretch as much as you can now?

  • Hi Paul, awesome vids today, but i'm a bit overhelmed by the cheer number of exercises. is there some sort of guide, so i know with which ones i should begin, how many a day, how a many days a week?

    thx and greetings

  • i have pain in my legs from doing the streches on a video of yours is that normal

  • Paul, how long is that resistant band because I just bought a set of resistance bands which are 4 feet long, I bought the stick and plumbing device and it really isn't working, the band is much too short..

  • @Associazione only the light resistance band will work some what, the heavy one won't budge

  • Hi Paul, will a 4 FT Medium Resistance Band be suitable for this excercise or do I need a Heavy Resistance Band? Thank you

  • @Associazione

Depends, but usually should go with heavier.

  • @Elasticsteel Thanks

  • @Elasticsteel Does the 1 free resistance band than comes with your DVD "Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Splits" heavy resistance?

  • what is the minimum and maximum thickness of the bands? as im sure the thicker they are the more resistance they hold? is this correct... any takers... thank you! t.j

  • thats gonna make my ass look killer im excited thanks

  • your a dude. You understand:) Will doing a spilt hurt?

  • Where can someone buy the resistance band?

  • @Associazione

Most Stores have it. ElasticSteel (.net) sells it too.

  • Hi, I would like to know what average time is for a human to flex the leg as high as you do in this video. If say someone stretches everyday on the right muscle when can we expect to see that much progress if someone is just a beginner in the exercises? I know its not a simple question, but in terms of months maybe their is something to say about it.

  • It all depends on what level you start at- when i started stretching my splits i was about 10- 15 cm off the floor, so i had some natural flexibilty, and through holding them every day and oversplitting i got my right and left leg splits down, and my right beyond down in around 3-4 months. However i never got my box split down as i have no flexibilty that way, so settled for improving it a bit.

So really it all depends on your natural flexibilty, your pain limits, and how dedicated you are.

  • btw that was a reply to Machiavelia1986, but got put at the top instead.

    Hope it helps :)

  • Thankyou for the help..i was wondering how does one develope leg control?.. i can do the splits but only on the floor..i don't have the control to do the splits in a handstand or lift my ..I'm not sure if I can't do it because my legs aren't strong enough or not flexible enough.

  • If you can do splits on the floor without forcing them, you have the flexibility. It's strength that you need to work on.

  • hey..how did you do that tool??

    and what are the materials??

    can u teach me..

i want to be that flexible

    thnxxx

  • I can do split its very cool!

thank you for the lessons ^^

  • omqq i wish i was that flexible.

im horrible im not even half way on my splits. any advice :[

how do you make this tool ? it looks very helpful

  • i wanna be that flexible cuz i need it for breakdancing specially when doing flares...becuz my leg cant go pass 90degrees of the stretch so its only like "L" with my body or my other leg .i need it to be "v" with my body..

im having a hard time also because my legs is kinda longer than wat it should be or my torso is short..dont know..haha

    anyway nice guides..

  • can you do the stand up split aka tilt thing

if you can, can you show us how ???

thanks love the video by the way

  • Thank you for your comment.

I am sure there are plenty of video on youtube with people doing just that.

  • great tool..

    where did you buy that..

    your a good trainer

uhm..what do you could that thing..

    thnxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Thank you for your comment.

I did not buy it, I made it. It's very simple to make.

  • when i practice for the splits the only part that i feel is stretchig are the muscles around my knees , but there is no work done on the groin or the hamstrings. u said it should be the other way, so how do i change that??

  • I have to try that.

  • Thank you for your comment.

  • Cool stretching machine.

  • Thank you for your comments.

  • Good stuff, always innovative.

  • Thank you for your comments.

  • Cool stretching invention.

  • Thank you for your comments.

  • I have one question and it's not necessarily about this video but how do you improve a round-house kick's flexibility? I've always found myself turning my planted foot at a 180 degree from my body and really using my hip so that I don't hurt myself when performing one. Also, are the side splits and adductors really essential in performing this kick?

  • The RH kick flexibility depends on how you throw it. The way I throw it, open front split would be the closest to kinesiological (not nesessary other transfers) transfer to the target skill.

That is only for the height of the kicking leg and nothing else.

  • That sounds correct for the precision roundhouse but I believe the power/speed round house is what I intended to question about, sorry about the confusion there. What I'm more concearned about is basically the TaeKwonDo Switch Kick and Continuous Kick. Unlike the basic roundhouse there's nearly no time for turning your planted foot like usual. Instead it's like a 90 degree/"L Stance" which is where I sometimes get like a hyperextension pain. These are unlike Kickboxing Switch Kicks.

  • With the TaeKwonDo Switch Kick, the kick is done while switching the lead leg (rear leg kicks and then plants as front), and the Continuous Kick is self explanatory where there is only ever one leg planted and it's continuously switched from leg to leg while throwing Round House Kicks, not to be confused with multiple roundhouse's with only one leg. Perhaps I'm getting that pain because I'm not flexible enough yet, or could I be throwing the kick wrong?

  • When you kick this way, the kick is usually at 45 degree angle up. You also must have strong inward rotators. Many people who start this training as children, stretch back in an open hurdler stretch to allow the leg to rotate inward more. This often causes issues for ligaments of the hips.

  • Well I believe it's 90 degree angles or higher but yea I get your point :p You've been so helpful, thank you very much. It's nice to see that people who endorse a successful product, listen and respond to future and present clients. I look forward to receiving your instructional videos.

  • I hope I was able to help. :)

  • Cool stretching stick. lol

  • "Stretching Stick" :)

  • I know the splits stretches. What is exl?

  • Extended Length Conditioning.

  • Extended Length Conditioning for stretching. Even I know that.

  • I guess the EXL instead of ELC could confuse someone.

  • Stretches for splits. Thanks.

  • You got it.

  • Very good and inspiring video. Thank you.

  • Thank you for your comment.

  • That's splits stretches.

  • Yes, they are.

  • Thank you for showing another variation that I can use. It would be in the same section as Extended Length Conditioning on the DVD?

  • That is correct.

  • You make those stretches look easy.

  • That's my job lol

  • Amazing range of motion.

  • Cool Stuff. You are good at what you do. Please keep doing it.

  • Thank you for this stretching tutorial.

  • You got it.

  • EVERYONE somehow my comments went into wrong places. I think you will know which is meat for you, if you look through them.

    -Paul

  • Great video. What happened with these replies?

  • I am not sure. Somehow they all ended up together on the top.

  • Would this help for the side split or the front split?

  • The way it's done. The primary target is the Open Front Split. Side Split can benefit as well.

  • Very cool. Thank you for sharing.

  • You got it.

  • Top notch!

  • Thank you for your support.

  • Great Stretches.

  • Thank you.

  • Awesome brother I'm glad I found your channel. Great tips my friend!

  • I am glad you they can be of help.

    Keep making peace :)

  • How long does it take to learn the splits on average? I'm pretty flexible and can get around 5-6 inches from the floor.

  • Don's think of the destination, just of the journey. Enjoy the ride and you'll get there much faster.

  • How long did it take you to gain full range of motion Paul?

  • i practicied everyday wen i wa about the same measurements fromthe floor like u and i learnt it in about 2 weeks lol

  • What kind of band is that? and where can i find that elastic band?

Bytheway you do help me allot with my kicking skill!

    greetings from the netherlands!

  • 1. Most sports stores sell them.

    2. You are very welcome.

  • Really nice idea! thanks

  • You got it.

  • bro thats genius patent it you will be rich if you dont i will !

  • I use a number of devises more comfortable the that one. But thanks for the heads up. lol

  • i would so laff it that snaped

  • It did not ;)

  • Haven't had much of a chance to use the device I made, but I had a feeling I'd gain more flexibility by continuing to stretch for very long periods of time.

When holding a maximum angle stretching position, I watch television). It's distracting due to pain, but if you hold it long enough, the pain slowly fades away and you get used to it. I am going to try for 30 mins to an hour.

    Also, touch your toes often.

Follow his other flexibility guides for more info.

  • You will try to hold one stretch for 30-60 minutes?

  • I have a small problem...I can do this...but the problem is that the lower leg tthats not being stretched tends to come up when I pull the other leg away from it. Anyone else have that problem ?

  • You are probably moving your pelvis in the direction of the leg that you stretch.

  • I am going to start training kickbox so you been a lot o help. You rock!!!

    P.S-Keep those videos coming

  • wooooooooooooooow love it love it thanks men
