@chbim you're a thousand times right it's ballard but I, personally prefer Blade without a doubt (even if it's quite absurd to prefer one musician to another) as he's much more loose and less edgy. Jeff Ballard is also an aamzing drummer by the way.
The two interlude numbers are nice and moody, but I still skip right past them. Questlove's groove is so sweet. Love the ghost notes. Jeff Ballard however is the reason I layed down the money. 5:00. I loved him with Chick and now with Brad Mehldeau. Truely a monster of the drums.
Totally agree with you. All the heads are great but the solos dont hold your interest. except for that riverwilde one. Blades groove is so nice on it that you could listen to it all day.
I think that may be due to a lack of chemistry between Joshua and Sam. Obviously there is a ton going on between Brian (or in many cases, Jeff Ballard) and Josh, but I think Sam plays in a very detached way. It's not a bad thing, but for this group, when they're trying to be as organic and natural as possible, it hurts. I still love this shit though. I could listen to it all day.
yeeeaa good music

Man, it sounds like Joshua was really diggin' DEEP down into Eddie Harris's bag, and since I LOVE Eddie Harris, I'm REALLY diggin' THIS!

It's definitely Ballard, and he is completely insane.

I'n not sure if he'd just had his appendix removed, or his sister fell off a cliff, but he sounds good. They all seem to be grooving together.
Tricky rhythms ...

Momentum's songs to me start awesomly, but for most songs I feel the urge to skip to the next track after only a couple of minutes.
