will be extremely great full to anyone who can put the entire translation of this great song, though I agree no translation can do justice to Urdu poetry.
Really beautiful &rare upload, mother daughter duo are just too good,MP had not lost her voice&vocal prowess with age.And high praise for Hafeez saab for this rare 'ALFAAZBANDI'&QAFIABANDI' Ibadaton ka zikar hai nijat ki bhi fiqr hai junoon hai sawaab ka khayal hai azaab ka magar suno to sheikhji, bhala shabab o aashiqi alag hue bhi hai kabhi haseen jalawarez hon adain fitnakhez hon hawaaain itarbez hon to sauq kyun na tez hon nigah haae fitanagar koi idhar kloi udhar ubhaarte ho aish par sorry
You have reminded me the golden era of PTV. SimPly AWESOM...!
By the way, this song portrays the nature of a woman. She always feels ( in any age) that UBHI TAU MEIN JWAN HOUN and never realizes that she is getting older. Just like in the case of MALIKA-E-POKHRAJ.

Can somebody be kind enough to translate the entire poem into English. Do not worry even if translation is not perfect. Thanks in advance. Least one can say it is absolutely beautiful.
I have original urdu lyrics with difficult word explained in Hindi script? Can you read that? Else I can translate it in English but it will take some time. I also have the original audio from record.
my mom used to listen to this song and I heard it when i was about 12-13 years old and the only line i understood was, 'abhi to mein jawan hoon' and it literarly brought tears to my eyes.
Abhi to mein jawan hon ; hawa bhi khush gawar hay, gulon pe bhi nikhar hay
tarannum hazar hay, bahar pur bahaar hay ; kahan chala hay saqiya ;idhat to laot idhar to aa ; aray ye dekhta hay kia ; utha suboo, suboo utha ;suboo utha piyala bhar, piyala bhar kay day idhar ;chaman ki samt kar nazar, saman to dekh be khabar ;woh kali kali badliyn ; ufq pe ho gain ayaan;woh aek hujoom e maikashan ;hay soo e maikada rawaan ; ye kia guman hay bad gumaan, samajh na mujh ko natawaan ;
This is my favorite version of all these 'Abhi to Mein Jawaan' versions. I have to say that despite having studied Urdu through university level some of this nazm is still hard to understand.
This needs to be watched several times to understand it fully.
Oh, now I realize the graceful beauty of Tahira Sayyad. Calling her 'hot' would not be appropriate.
Beautiful.I'm a Bengali Hindu & don't really understand everything the words imply. But it has touched a chord in me & I know the song is great.I was in Jalandhar a few months ago & the person I thought of there was Hafeez Jalandhari. In Amritsar I thought of Sa'adat Hasan Manto. In Hyderabad,I've discussed this song with Shiv K. Kumar & he remembers seeing Hafeez Jalandhari recite it with great gusto in Lahore in pre-partition days.I wonder why there's so much ill-will between India & Pakistan.
I heard this song 30 years back,20 years back 15 years back,it was all ways in my memories to day iI am lucky to enjoy it so much incredible...........please contact if you want mereabbu@gmail.com
zabardast, indai walon nay remix kar k hafeez jalndri ki rooh ko b tarpa dia hay.how nice shair remarkable langage excent and a attitude.no other one can sing it like malika.
simplicity unmachable best and freindly words of urdu said in such a simple way seems to be complicated, but touches not only heart but steadly enters into the vains and felt from inside.
When I listen this song, I feel very young though close to 50 now. My dad has a record of it in India and he used to listen it every day when in evening he was TUNN. A beautiful words presented more gracefully. God bless Tahira ji. Malika ji was great singer.
@MeX2004 Right you are. Urdu poetry can't be faithfully translated in any other language, with the exception of Persian. You can't translate Urdu poetry even in any other South Asian language like Hindi, Bengali or Gujarati.
After having listened to this all time lyrical song, I have started to feel Jawan again X I am also going to write down the wordings of this song and may be sing in one of those parties we normally have at home to create a atmosphere of serenity.
abhi to main jawan hoon... hawa bhi khush gawar hae gulon pae bhi nikhar hae tarunum-e-hazaar hae bahaar pur bahaar hae... kahan chala hae saqiya idhar to laut idhar to aa aare yeh dekhta hae kiya utha subooh subooh utha subooh utha piyala bhar piyala bhar kwe dwe idhar
These are truly classic songs. Never had time for these when we were young, but now these songs pull you back and you can relate to them. Maybe due to experience and understanding.

Some people think Malka was her title, infact it was her birth name, as a saint predicted she is going to be a queen. She began her successful singing career in the royal court of maharaja kashmir. After 1947 settled in jhang, had 6 children and died in 2004 at the age of 93.
I am a die hard fan of this Nazm by Hafiz Jalandhari.sung by the legend Malika Pukhraj.

English Translation:
Prayers and worship form our talk
Salvation too attracts our heart,
Intent on following godly ways
Our hearts dread the Judgement Day.
But listen to me, O revered priest
A strange thing you are indeed!
Have youth and beauty ever been,
Unrelated alien thing?
