  • My favorite Pink Floyd album

  • Richard had a beautiful voice! He and Dave were the real musicians in the group, which counter-acted the drive to succeed and lyrics of Roger...making it all work magically.

  • Awesome Floyd Album!! Listened for the the first time in Anchorage Alaska with a friend back in 1982. It totally blew us away!

  • I love this song! it's simply wonderful! ;)

  • I'm curious if anyone else has made the following connection: In the chorus, doesn't Rick Wright's voice sound like Donald Fagen of Steely Dan?

  • RIP Richard. You are always missed. And this isn't just coming from left field. We all have that special connection with Pink Floyd's music. Rick's music was the soft and gentle side of PF that can cheer you up when your down or something

  • @bigbear647965 Couldn't have said it better myself - although his voice kind of invades and sits there next to my demons. Reminding me I'm human and what not. One of the greatest voices ever.

  • Thanx, this is a great post!

  • ***

  • i see two people who cant "STAY"

  • I have been looking for this song for days. I heard it and couldn't recall lyrics to search for it. Just heard it again and now I know what it was lol.

  • love this great tune by mister richard wright

  • this song and burning bridges are so heavenly!

  • Great tune by Rick! Obscured By Clouds is never appreciated because its a soundtrack album like More which is also underappreciated. Love all Floyd!

  • Pink Floyd's most underrated album absolutely some killer songs and some of early signs of david gilmour's killer soloing

  • I love pink Floyd and the song Stay from Obscured by Clouds and montages but this just didn't do it for me.

  • you know, this was me and my first girlfriends band...this song has always meant alot to me, she was my first love, sex, everything, and i wasnt able to listen to any floyd for months cause it just broke me down, but now that i finally did, it feels good to be back, and i can now look back on those memories and smile, and only thank her for the time she gave to me. thank you roger, syd, nick, roger, and rich...

  • @LysergicBliss67 oh and how could i forget you bob klose!

  • @LysergicBliss67 I am in the same boat as you. Many of these songs remind me of my first love. We are no longer together now. Sad the way things turn out. The best thing you can do if you are going to remember her. Is think of the good times you two had.

  • rock forever!!!!!!!!

  • awesome slideshow -OBC makes me happy

  • What knobhead clicked the 'dislike' button?! That person must be an utter fiend!

  • @nyu6697 dyslexia

  • 1 person didnt stay ............

  • I love how they use the tremolo. When I write songs I can't find a good way to use it

  • Ótimo

  • this song makes me cry when i'm on mushroom trip!......great......long life to floyd!----

  • @acidpipas

    hahaha,me too,mate.Sweet.

  • @acidpipas

    Me too,lol.

  • I play songs from this era and no one even knows it's the Floyd! I could claim the songs as my own for all anyone knows... this is the USA though *sigh* so many pigf*ckers...

  • @TheAtomicist42 Why don't you move to a place with less "pigfuckers"? Idiot.

  • Comment removed

  • @miamad I think you mean a place with "fewer" pigfuckers. Idiot.

  • I've heard this with the film and later. It's really a different album, but with a lot of feeling!

  • Obscurred by is my favorite PF album.

  • Amsterdam,well done!

  • RIP RICKY!

  • one of the most beautiful and emotional floyd songs ever! man Rick had a beautiful voice..what a sad loss of Syd & Rick:( im so sad now

  • i would pay anything to see these dudes in concert today

  • @markvz

The song is about the life of hippies it also deals with effects that strong drugs can have on the psychological sense of time of a person....The days and nights pass away while without their knowledge as they are under the influence of drugs...the last line says

" A yellow moon turning cold"

  • @sankhanil Wow, that's really reading into it. That may be your interpretation of the song, but I'm not totally sold on it. To me it just seems like pink floyd's version of a love song with their style of lyrical imagery. I guess the only people who really know what the song is about are the floyd themselves.

  • @guitarkev77 Well you may be right but I am not aware of any love songs by floyd.......though I don't claim to have listened to all of their songs I listened to many of them and I found that their themes dealt with more transcendental topics. But if you are aware of any love songs by Floyd let me know...

  • I like this album and I consider it essential if you really love Pink Floyd. But one thing that I don't like is the album insert art. Also, there is no pictures of PF anywhere in the insert.

  • dont hear this song much, thanks for uploading :-)

  • thanks for helping me to end the day

  • Such a true Pink Floyd fan for sharing this wonderful slide show and song.

  • This is my all time favorite Pink Floyd song! And one of the many reasons why Rick Wright has always been my favorite member of Pink Floyd.

  • This song takes me there! if you dont know where there is then i dont know why even bother listening to pink floyd.

  • hey you uploaded this on my birthday two years ago.

  • Great Montage Vid!!! Thanks for posting. I sure am glad I grew up when I did.How music has changed!

  • Thank you so much.

  • A highlight from a soundtrack LP. Dave has fallen back on these albums with comment that some of the songs are rather good, but he did not have any passion for them during the period of making them, the only thing he feels in notable is the time that they were given to record a finished product, versus the long gestation of their regular output, so, even more impressive in light of that fact!

  • ty ....this song is amazing.

  • One of my fav's..bloody good stuff

  • pink FLOYD..........!!!

  • beautiful song !

  • lo mejor y lo mejor de pink floyd, more and more and more but the best will be always the best!!!!

    more is cool too!!!!!

  • exacto, el recuerdo...

    gracias por las fotos

realmente me hiciste vivir el pasado

  • I wish Rick Wright had made more songs in the early days, his voice was so unique!

  • Should have made more but I think he was getting phased out by Rodger during Rodger's power play.

  • This is the most underrated pink floyd album... every song on it is good. Nothing grand and epic like with most of their other albums, but to this day its one of the best chill records ever made.

  • you said it.

If i had to choose only one PF cd this would be it.

    PS

    Its all good.

  • @Thill029 well said.

  • I see fuji64 was unable to establish an argument on this vid despite sporadic efforts over the past month.

    Good.

For anyone tempted to respond to either fujivoo or 1ndi64, DON'T. They are the same person. He just takes opposing views with 2 identities to bait a phony argument. He has other identities too, but he hasn't fouled this vid with them yet.

  • my fav pre dark side album

  • The put the Syd pictures in because they knew 1ndi64 was gonna follow fujivoo to this site and they just wanted to annoy him...works like a charm

  • This album has a kind of un-plugged quality to it which you don't hear in most Floyd recordings....really laid back

  • @1ndi64 wow..minus 6....and you deserve every one of them

  • Yeah sure, laid back. I call it boring crap. Somebody must have un-plugged fujivoo's brain.

The word «un-plugged» makes me feel like vomiting. Every musician who participates in an «un-plugged» session should be sent to jail.

  • cause your a nub

    nirvana's unplugged was pretty good

  • Great song..Waters, lyrics and vocals, Rick Wright, music and vocals....back when Waters & Wright actually collaborated...excellent under-appreciated album right before "Dark Side.."

  • retard, your opinion is assinine. floyd made better albums after syd, but there's no point in telling an airhead with 0.00%musical knowledge. happy new year jerk-off

  • This song kinda brings out the tears, for some reason.

  • a completely underrated record!

  • some of the best pink floyd songs are rick and david just jamming out...this song, great gig in the sky, echoes are among my favorites

  • great choice of song, and your collage is excellent.

you could've done with a better sound source though :)

  • there's no words for pink floyd music. only the mind can understand such thing.

  • i love pink floyd !!!! David Gilmour is sooo gorgeous !!

  • Somehow I came across this album when I was 19 and couldn't get it out of my head. It reflected very well my youthful melancholy moods. There are some great songs on this disk that blew me away then came "Dark Side of the Moon." I like these two works of Pink Floyd the best.

  • I'm very fond of this song, in fact I'm very fond of this album.

  • god i love me some pink floyd, this is like my favorite album too, this one and animals

  • I agree, Obscured is one of those albums that you appreciate more and more. Just listen to Rick and then there's David's guitar ..Winning combination !

  • Great song!

  • i miss sid

  • you never knew him...

  • this is just awesome

  • broken chair needs to get a life...beides,dogs is better that anything he will ever write in his whole life.

  • Thanks a lot for this video, Amsterdam74yeah. This is definitely one of my favourite Floyd's songs, and the album Obscured By Clouds is among the best Pink Floyd has ever made. Cheers, mate!

  • You're welcome, image!. I totally agree. Cheers!

  • @imageinaction its the ultimate perfect song of all time

  • I think i can say Obscured by Clouds is my favourite PinkFloyd album ... why did Rick have to die? :((((

  • I don't think that Floyd wrote a single "love song" ever. This is no exception. It seems to be about "falling in love" then waking up hung over and wondering what the hell you've done to yourself.

  • Like this, try Coming Down Again by Rolling Stones

  • brokechair's a dawg

  • A Waters / Wright collaboration...Waters wrote the lyrics, Wright wrote the music and sings....

  • Pink Floyd wrote "Dogs".

  • BrokenChair88 wrote "Pink Floyd wrote ""Dogs"".

  • flydfan wrote "Brokechair88 wrote Pink Floyd wrote Dogs"

  • rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick rick

  • I get lost when i hear this. Awesome

  • Rick Wright Lead vocal in his song is wonderful!!!!

    Rick is brilliant!!!! Unforgetable!!!!! RIP......

  • one of the most beautiful songs of them, I fuckin love this : )

  • most killer!!! rick wright sang this right?

  • i think that this song is pink floyd most romantic song ever

  • ahhh the post smoked a few bowls dream. gotta love it.

  • thanks thanks thanks!

  • Obscured By Clouds one of the truly unappreciated albums in the Floyd cannon.

  • If the album really is in the Floyd_cannon_, it's truly being underappreciated.

As far as the Pink Floyd canon is concerned, it seems that the band never regarded Obscured by Clouds as much more than a diversion, which only took them a couple of weeks to knock off; at a time when they were already well into their next canon project, which really came out with a bang -- eventually.

  • you said a mouthful Emile with your opening statement. Ive been saying for years that obscured by clouds is as a mandatory listen as dark side of the moon wish you were here and the wall.

  • @soysaucefool. Rock on dude! Obscured by Clouds has always been my favorite Pink Floyd album along with More. Than I would say Atom Heart Mother,Meddle, and Piper at the Gates of Dawn. Which ones Pink? Any album with Rick Wright contributing at full force. I have never been a Wall fan.

  • @soysaucefool in my opinion its their best......

  • By far the best "one night stand " song ever

All Floyd fans surely appreciate Rick Wright -awesome musician

  • Thanks for the pictures I am a big Floyd/Gilmour fan.

  • ..thanks for feelings you have always given ..

    .. and this is a gem ..;)

    ..rare moments..

  • A++

  • Great music. I totally forgot about this gem. Thanks for the post!!! Beautiful

  • Amsterdam, one of David Gilmours finest moments. Thanks for sharing it. Also, is that really you in the photo? If so, man would I like to find out whats behind those eyes! Happy new year.

  • That's actually Shirley Manson ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahha

Indeed, Gilmour was on top in '72, man

    Cheers :o)

  • So it is! Funny! Gilmore 1970 to 1975: I can not decide what I like better, his vocal or slide work.

  • Akwaaaaaaard.........

  • Hey Amsterdam, you did a great job putting this together. Kudos to you. Thanx.

  • Thanks to you for watching! :o)

  • fantastic

  • beautiful, thanks

  • It has a kind of R&B feel to it I like it man, great track.

  • This is one of my favorite Floyd songs. I can't believe Rick is now dead, but we forget how long ago this album was (1972). I am one of the people who enjoyed PF before Dark Side of the Moon, which certainly changed everything for the band. Had there never been a DSOTM, I still would feel they were one of the best bands ever!!

  • man i miss rick and syd, just one more time together all 5 would of been great but we did get the main 4 which still was a once in a lifetime event, glad i got to watch it live on television.

  • sountrack of the movie "La valle" great psycadelic age i like it.10 stars to the psycadelic movement

  • is the guy at 2'51" syd barrett?

  • Yes, that's Syd in 1978 in front of his house in Cambridge.

  • obscured is the only pf-album i have never heard. thank you for the suggestions about it.

  • asks me to play this song to chill out after a stressful work routine.this makes me feel on heaven we end up sleeping like angels.lovely voice by rick and nicest gilmour wah and guitar work .

  • My personal favorite Floyd album is Obscured By Clouds. Was the first album of theirs that I heard when i was 14 and I was totally captivated by it, holds some terrific memories for me too!

  • don't mention, same age or maybe a litlle younger

  • ya this album is really underrated due to the success of dsom, but its a fukin Gem

    Rip Rick

  • great rick wright number he will be dearly missed.

  • Did you know?

Just before in the Flesh Pt. 1 youll hear Roger Waters say

We Came In and at the end of cd 2 youll hear him say Isnt the where.

So if you were to play it on reel too reel itll say Isnt this where we came in.

    P. S.

Remember to lower the volume before In the Flesh starts, because you just may blow out your speakers.

  • every song on the cd kicks ass!

  • yeah i was just listening to it the other day and really its an awesome overlooked album

  • i took 8 Excedrin and it didn't agree with my lithium and I didn't sleep for like 4 days

  • lots of caffeine

  • One of the nicest songs on Clouds. Underrated. Thank you and rest in peace, Rick!

  • Underrated song. Love the lyrics!

Rick Wright. Not only a brilliant pianist and keyboardist, but a fine singer as well.

    RIP

  • Sung and written (with Roger Waters) by the late & great Rick Wright.

  • RIP Richard Wright

  • RIP Rick

  • Heard this album for first time this sat night at a bbq and it really opened my eyes to very early floyd.

    Fabulous album

  • this is floyd in the dead center of their career (album wise) they had 6 full lengths before this and a shit load of unreleased material. check those out.

  • Indeed. Hope you liked it, but Obscured by Clouds is stylistically and sonically much closer to Dark Side of the Moon than the albums that came before it. Which by my count is at least 7 (Meddle, AHM, Ummagumma (which I count as 2), More, Saucerful and Pipers. You could throw Relics in there and get 8 even.

You got a whole lot of albums to explore before you get to "early floyd" my friend. You can check some of the vids here to get a taste for the early stuff to see if you like it.

  • I think obscured by clouds is 100 times better than Dark Side of the Moon.

    P.S.

    Its all good stuff. lol

  • well thats just plain silly.. I love Obscured by clouds and its my fave album but no way does it compare to DSOTM.

  • trippy and nice

  • Very nice song... Beautiful

  • i love this song and i loved your video, thanks for uploading! :)

  • muito de fuder, stay

  • For me its the best floyd song

  • I feel it the same way...

  • for me not the best, but simply one of the best... rick has a good singing voice

  • I love this song. Very nice ^^

  • Nice song, but it's not in the movie.

  • I never said it was in the movie. It's in the soundtrack.
