Tiny Tim (Herbert Khaury) was grossly under-rated. He was a great collector of early 20th century music and performed them very well. Just listen to a real 1920s recording of the song; he captures the style perfectly. The rest of the God Bless Tiny Tim album has some excellent performances, many in his lower range voice. Yes, he was a very strange fellow, but an excellent performer.
