Congrats to Kudryavtseva, but I think some of you guys are over-doing the "demise" of Sharapova because of one loss. Come on not every single top player is ALWAYS going to go deep in a tournament...they're human after all. I mean Sharapova has stayed in the Top 5 since end of 04...that says a lot about how consistent she is, even if there are bad results here and there, which is normal. She'll rebound from this loss.

Players like Alla brings depth to womens tennis, she makes it alot less shallow and is a gutsy competitor. I do agree with her the tuxedo outfits overdone - its tennis tournament after all not a motor car show

one big win and she's suddenly bringing depth? if that is the case then women's tennis is DOOMED!, maria was not in top form and give credit to alla she took advantage that is all. she will probably go away after this and will only be slightly remembered for her comments, as JJ put it best, "it's a girl's world afterall."

If youve been following tennis sports commentators been saying theres improved depth with more younger players some outside top 100 able to beat the top ten now. Its as good as mens tennis so its not all about Alla. BTW theres talk that Marias serving action has too much back swing that puts enormous strain on her shoulders so the one thats DOOMED is maria not WTA.

If she gets some good consistent results, she could be an interesting player in the future. She's feisty and sort of outspoken.
