Great video! I have one question. If the Swiss was neutral in the conflict in Europe, then how did they acquire the bf-109?

During the war! The Germans have lost their Bf-109 G in Switzerland. In exchange the Nazi Germany gave them Bf-109E. Later during the war the Swiss received some of BF-109G too. At least that's what the Swiss said after the war. That explains why the Swiss Air Force had dogfights with Mustangs who had mistaken for German!

You mixed up a lot of things. The Bf-109 was ordered after the presentation at the international air show in 1937 (means 2 years before ww2). And the models of D and E were delivered.

Some F and G die emergency landings. And as a Bf-110 g-4 nightfighter landed, and germans already thought about an airraid to destroy the technology, they made a deal to deliver Bf-109 Gs.

The nightfighter was destroyed, but british embassy apparently got some info about armament.

@xBxLxIxNxDx Many incursions were made by the Luftwaffe into Switzerland, and it wasn't boring, it was a mix between relaxing and death, sometimes combat broke out between the 2 sides near the border. Same happened near the end when allied bombers flew over.

@AJsfree2toke Il-2 by far.. I have it myself, its rated by just about all the gaming sites as one of the leading flight sims in the world, thats right you don't even need to shoot stuff in it to have fun, very realistic.

PS. However if you get IL-2 I strongly suggest getting at least IL-2 Forgotten battles add on with it. Otherwise your choice of planes is severely limited.

@laagin5 Well this is the Father of Birds of Prey the IL-2 1946, wich is based on Forgotten Battles (well kind of its grandfather^^) wich is based on the original IL-2. One true classic. This simulation does not get old it gets better. The PC does have some advantages. If you want to play it, you might want to get it, its around 10 euros and you don´t need the latest hardware to run it, as far as i know even with the mods maxed out. The sucessor is in the works but... i don´t know the release.

Yes, they came into possession of these aircraft before and during WW2. They purchased them from Germany when both nations were on good relations and then interred more when the Luftwaffe violated Swiss Airspace during the war.

Good old switzerland claiming neutrality but harrasing any planes that decide to fly over the alps. From what I read they bought some 109E's prior to WW2 and then forced Germany to give them some factory fresh 109G's in exchange for a captured radar unit. That is in addition to some 109s the swiss forced down and claimed for personal use.

Yes, it is DC-3 of german Lufthansa, you can find it also in Il-2 Sturmovik as C-47 (military version of DC-3 airliner).
