I have never in my life seen or heard of one of these things. The island people must have kept these guys a secret for a reason. but honestly.. these things will be come endangered the more they're on youtube. I have some interest in these things now. Save the Tarsier.. they're so damn cute. I the only animal i hve ever said that about is my newest dog and my friends grandma's parrot. and maybe the rattle snake I saw a few months back.. until it attacked my backpack (inserts evil grin)
@NathansPhase2012 PS to self... hear or seen of them a year ago is what I meant. I have made like 100 post on these things in the past 2 or 3 months. I know they have this "Things you're interested in" but I have come across more tasiar videos than any other. Great animal. Why as a 40+ year old have I never seen one of these things before? it's like the gremlin or furby dolls.
Did you know that tarsiers can rotate their head 180 deg and are named after a bone in all primates called the tarsal bone which for them is extremely elongated. And their cute also.
beautiful animal. it is a bit sad the way they are treated in captivity, but remember, they were thought to be a myth until very recently, so people are still very fascinated with them. and showing them in captivity is a major part of saving the species as a whole. bringing awareness to how cute and endangered they are.
Yup they are endangered! But hey, I know that there are people who help these tarsiers to increase their population and be safe species once again in the animal kingdom!
This is one species where the mom is almost cuter than her baby. This video makes me sad though... It's so rare that a tarsier is comfortable enough to breed in captivity, so I really think they could do better than displaying her for photographers like that. It's really a little baby, and they look terrified. Ok, so their faces always look terrified, but the way they are clutching one another and looking around does not say "confident" or "maternal bliss" to anyone, does it?
tarsiers are fucking creepy

A Tarsier is of the primate order, specifically a prosimian. Though some scientists want to classify it as an anthropoid, like us.

Aw man, I feel so sorry for them. I wish I could take them to a place where they wouldn't be bothered by people all the time.
