There's a chance that Andres Velasco could be Chile's next president. A curious thing really... A fiscal conservative representing a leftist coalition. There's absolutely no doubt of Velasco's economic credentials, he was responsible for the policies that safeguarded Chile from the GFC and that left the government coffers in such a healthy state that the terrible earthquake and tsunami did not pose an insurmountable obstacle. Good on him and best of luck.
