@aNa5I Small fish gets eaten by medium fish, medium fish gets eaten by bigger fish. It's life! Like how jelly fish don't actually sting with electiricity, they inject poison to stun their prey (like what happened in this video) and then digest it some how. Worse things happen that are human caused, but like the creator said he wanted to show a "natural" event. Read the uploader comment.

Many of you call that thing what he ate a "Fish" which is not true.

first of this is an alien planet, and second it is a land beast that have its kids stored in its mouth. It uses the same method that it might have done for Idk 100 of years buy put one in the water and make the fisher fish it and eat it raw (like reptiles always do).

This is pretymuch how evolution works and can be find similar thing such as parrasites.

However, is there a message trying to be sent through this film? Or is it just soully to tell a dark story, because if that was the aim it was achieved tenfold. @TheBenhayden Thanks for the kind words! Rather an overt message, I wanted to use visual narrative to show a natural event/cycle. I was mainly interested in conveying a mood- lonely, harsh, beautiful, & interwoven. I'm fascinated by evolution and the unique designs it produces (as well as the mystery of fishing), and I hoped these factors were enough to make an interesting short. I'm sorry to disappoint if you're looking for a concise moral/message... "chew your food" might have to suffice. ;)
