Mander used it in his WR 4 days after this vid came out. It's definitely faster, but as you said, needs luck. There are a lot of strats out there that are faster but need luck.

And no, I used manual for this run since auto would build up too much speed to go around the rock.

how do you get up there?

i have to do it shroomless and it is longer

Easy, you just pivot left three or four times, then when the race starts make sure to be holding left on the controller, do this for a split second, then let go of the control stick, shroom, wheelie, and hope for the best.

Doing it this way was just random, most of the time you go barreling into the rock itself.

Mander does this in his former WR run. It requires a great deal of luck though.

This video was made and uploaded 4 days before Mander got his WR run. I think he saw my video but he says he didn't. He does the start much better anyway, he shrooms way earlier than I do.

I tried it again when I was racing Inviso's ghost and I got to the first checkpoint before him, of course his skills at the track made him pass me before I got to checkpoint 2.

Total luck, but it can save a lot of time.

Yes it can if it is done correctly, I tested this by racing against a sub 20 second ghost. Inviso's to be precise. However, I am not good enough at the course to hold him off until the end.

Yet as many possible timesavers it requires a huge amount of luck, no?

I just did it randomly when racing my 24"882 ghost, I know it requires a lot of luck but if it could be done even on accident in a run it could prove useful. I got hung up on the rock too long though.

You using manual drift? :o

I think it might be faster. Done it some few times before, but most of the time I just fly over the rock because of too hight speed. 5* <3

Yes I use manual drift on GV because it allows you to naturally slow yourself down when turning. It can be done faster because I did get stuck on the rock for a while, but getting up there to quickly means you will have too much mushroom boost and go flying off the edge.

I've done that a few times. I've also drifted around 1st rock corner at high speed...

I did that too once but flew off of the rock because I was going too fast. Inviso says it has potential to be faster, so I'll take his word for it as he is 3rd WW or maybe 4th, but I think 3rd.

I don't know anything about MKwii but it seemed to me that your start is faster..

This course is a glitched course, all you have to do is drive around the mountain 3 times to finish the race. Here is the WR video and his starting strat.
