What you didn't see was the crew cheifs standing out there for a hour and a half to two hours with the pilots doing a -1 preflight prior to taxi. So a little fun on having your plane taxi out makes everyones day.

@tballo69 come on man, lighten up. i'm a maintainer (E&E) and i know for a fact that the marshaller is not the main person responisble for a "fuel line burst" that would be the fire guard. maintainers need to have fun at work to keep their sanity. working endless hours everyday, all year, starts to sink in. you try and have a good time when you can and you are 100% serious when you need to be. i can tell you're old school but things have changed since then.

@toddwaite adding to that: 90% of any problems that happen after the jet starts to taxi can and need to be handled by the pilot. once the jet starts engines then, hopefully, if there is a fire or something, the jets protection systems should be working adequately. if not, you have a fire guard. you can't tell me you were a maintainer and never tried to make the job not suck. i know i try to, everyday. its the shittiest job and the best job all at the same time. but lighten up.
