This is, in my opinion the best yu-gi-oh series EVER. I mean it isn't only cards and again cards. It has many kind of games and it has a very good story. The only thing I don't like in this series is that it's small, it's 22-24 episodes, plus it ends with Bakura with a very good role playing game. The end is really good too. You should watch it.

The later series are dark in their own way, but nothing can quite compare to the down-to-Earth feeling of the series at the very beginning. It was almost like a horror manga - Millennium items aside, the setting was very mundane. Hell, it almost felt like it was happening just down the street.

@marocplayboy97 Because 4kids censored cuz it was to violent and there was too much of a "bad influence" on kids so it was never aired in America,or Europe. It had guns,alcohol,violence,death,an­d god knows what else what 4kids tries to avoid. But because this season unlike the others wouldn't make any sense at all once it was censored they decided to cancel it altogether. Also since you asked that question that means you haven't seen yugioh the abriged series if so I advice you to watch it ASAP

Plus the series looks really old in terms of animation. Would've been a huge ratings fail just like it was on Japan back in 1996.
