to 02orlando-  i have a kicker zr1000 competition kicker amp. to a 10.4 it heats up and its halfway on the gain. just remember, its a competition sub so of course its going to get hot! just put the RMS rating to it and you should be fine bumping it

let me know how that HCCA sounds in the probox. I have a 10" HCCA in a box that is only about 1.4 cubes with labyrinth porting built by rt/obcon boxes. it souns good but i think it would be alot better with a bigger box

I just got an orion 1200d ( the 2003 version before orion got bought out by directed) and i ahve it hooked up to a 10" HCCA and it NEVER gets hot at one ohm. The birth sheet t hat came with it had it rated at 1447 rms @ 1 ohm. I would definately recommend it over the hifonics if you havent gotten it yet. My 1600 watt brutus got really hot and went into protect mode after about 35 min- an hour. hope this helps.

hey bro did your orion ever warm or heat up when you turned it up with those 300 watts? mine does but its because i had my gain a little high on a small ass amp, but ima get a hifonics brutus 2000 so it will probly fix the problem.

@dafutureiznow32 that xtr gets hot because your probably pushing it to the max, if not close, if you give your sub clipped signal from so much bass boost or gains you will kill your sub.Just get a bigger amp that can push out close rms of what the sub is rated at. You wont have that problem if you do. :)

@02orlando i might just upgrade my amp again for da 3rd time. cuz i think da speakers max at 1200 watts and my amp is only a 1000 watt. people said it coulda been a bad ground but it got grounded 2 da frame of my car. da guy at da store adjusted everything. i think da amp is up 2/3 of da way, da crossover is up halfway. imma take it 2 sumbody else to get it looked at. wut r u sum amps for da xtr's

nice, i plan on running 2 of these within the next 6 months soon as tax season starts pretty much =) im just going with 2 in a 22hz tuned box with 600rms each. will be a very nice daily driver(watts can always be added later=P ) how you like it so far?

yeah, im using 2 10's atm got metered today and did 139.4 tuned at 22hz in my new box =) my shit peaked on a 39hz tone=P 10's on a normal box peak around 45-49. im planning on running 2 of these eventually, the HCCA's are amazing.
