Outstanding observation. I was so pumped when I first heard that a black person was finally going to be featured by disney. I told my sons like it or not we're going to see the movie so that disney will be encouraged to make more movies about us. That sh!t was a disaster! I left fuming and telling my sons i couldn't believe that they left us(black males) out like that. The prince was Latin or something and the villain was full fledged black man.

I do agree that this movie did have contradicting themes. Although I don't think the prince was completely white, it was a bad look on them to make the villain in the movie black. That's the only thing I really thought was bad about the movie because atleast here in LA, society is more of a mixing pot. But for me to boycott Disney, I'd have to boycott all things with a bad message like 50 cent, our Government, and all that. no time to do so. But what happens then if Disney makes a black prince?

by the way a movie featuring a black princess shud have come out decades before now anyway. And I think many black women are works of art to begin with its just that many are kept down by the negativity of the culture as well as public perception.
