I've got the MSI gx623 laptop, I can run the game at 1680x1050, all maxed out, AA at 4x + motion blur :D... the game runs really smooth. (Oh, and the graphics card is ATI HD4670)

I've used both NVIDIA and ATI cards, NVIDIA is a bit more powerfull, but ATI is efficiant durable and very overclockable with little to no effect in lifespan or heat. I would prefer an ATI car rather then NVIDIA anyday.

Which one is more powerful, it depends on the specific cards and not just the gpu producer alone.

IE 9500GT is certainly far less powerful than 4870.

if you do not have a better power supply for your "super" gaming computer you built or purchased, your computer may not start up cuz it does not have enough power to do so, or when you're playing a game and the game pushes your compartments to full power, your computer will freeze.

That is why the power supply isn't cheap, or if its cheap its probably not a good one. Power Supply is one of the most important part you need.
