  • David Shrigley is fantastic at Drawing, he gets his point across, which is more than i can say for a lot of artists.

  • its good.... but is it fart.

    no its art!

  • anyone can draw, drawing good is just a matter of opinion. I have seen people draw realistic portraits with excellent use of shading and line but the drawing feel lifeless. I prefer expression and Shrigley is a master.

  • He can draw well, he just chooses not too, it's his style. Picasso, he could draw, chose to develop his own cruder style.

  • of course he can draw, although he draws in a childish manner in his books he has a degree in fine art and he wldnt get into art school if he couldnt draw !! silly question

  • Questioning if he is an artist or not is different to if he can draw well. May be not, I mean this is his style but if he always draws like this possibly he can not draw well. If I was drawing like this I would be regarded as having no skill. But the guy is an artist exceptionally.

  • Well I don't agree, originality and a personal style doesn't mean you can draw well. Drawing well is actually to be able to draw in correct proportion, in expressing the light and dark, no one can deny that in every drawing there is shadow and there is light, and there are certain things that makes a good drawing.

  • Лучшие!!!

  • breast

  • Can anyone and everyone draw? Yes! Can everyone draw well? No! CAn David Shrigley draw well? Technically I would have to say no Now, does being able to draw technically well determine the quality of your work as an artist?Sometimes maybe, but no, not really. Okay so,Is David Shirgley a good artist despite his inability to render technically complex or realistic drawings, yes! It's the images and their content, the words, stories and the ideas that make David Shrigley a great artist!!

  • he has a degree in Fine art ..

  • Okay? I don't understand how that has anything to do with what I'm saying... and yes! that's exactly what I'm saying???

  • no...

you said that he technically can't draw thus proving that you have only seen his comics, either that or you don't know what a drawing technically is. He has no " inability to render technically complex or realistic drawings" only in his comics does he choose not to do this. do you really think he got his degree not being able to draw technically? no. hope you understand now.

  • I don't think that to draw well and to make a competent realistic rendering are synonymous. There are draftsmen who excel at the craft of rendering who can't draw well, as they make drawings that are cliched. I think one definition of "drawing well" would certainly include an ability to make marks that are distinctively your own, to develop a language that would read as your own language. In this regard David Shrigley draws quite well.

  • I completely agree. You make an excellent point, sir.

  • tits

  • exactly! How does having a degree in tits relate to what a great story teller/writer that david shrigley is?

  • nipples

  • I like nipples and I like david shrigley. What kind of point are you trying to make in regards to what has actually been said? Narrative tits like me more than I hate them... nippiles grow heavier when lightning hits the darkness
