@dc8078 classically considered all rudiments are played with a single tap stroke for each strike on the drum, unless otherwise noted, like in a drag, a buzz role, and a handful of others.
However it can be fun to press the sticks in to the head as if were a buzz, while running through different rudiments. For example, try playing paradiddles, but on the last beat of each paradiddle, press the stick in to the drum instead of the normal stroke

the beer bottles are on my table and keep the pad at a comfortable height. I like my snare to be right at belt buckle level, even on my drumset
