  • I'm not challenging you, but I thought Amish don't use electrical appliances, just mechanical

  • wtf lady how do u have a camera let a lone a freaking computer???

  • I didnt catch your name, but you have such beautiful hair. It looks so healthy and shiny. Do you do anything special or is just genetics?

  • This is really very fascinating thank you for sharing your videos

  • I want to wish everyone at Amish Deception a very Merry Christmas.

I love you guys/girls. Yall are too cool. I frequent Lancaster alot.

  • Interesting indeed!

  • Your hair is long, healthy, shiny and gorgeous! Very beautiful. I love it!

  • aaww shes very sweet

  • Thank you for this video. I am Mennonite and wear a smaller mesh kapp. I have thick hair and was wrapping my hair into a bun, but it would make my kapp not sit well.

I will certainly try your way - it's a great way to keep the hair flat.

    Again, thank you, and blessings.

  • Although your ordnung is confusing, and seems unnecessarily restrictive, I do admire your humility and simplicity. You are a naturally lovely woman and it must be nice to have an emphasis placed on your inner qualities and a peaceful way of life. I have always wished for a life more like that of the Amish.Thank you for using technology to help us understand the ways of Amish people a little better. More, Please!

  • Thanks! This is a very informative video.

  • There is simplicity in regulation and routine, discipline in order. Girls and women who dress this way are freed from hours spent experimenting with their appearance. Isn't that what plain is meant to be, freedom?

  • While I respect the choice of the Plain, the only freedom involved is being "freed" from the ability to make choices. It is much easier not to have to make decisions, but it is not freeing.

  • I agree, but I think that you're talking about freedom of time allowed by unnecessary want. Girls who like to spend hours dressing their hair exercise their freedom of choice.

  • More difficult that Catholic convent nun's dress. I had no idea. So restricting in every area.

  • Not more restricting than a secular woman's french twist, or a ballerina's traditional top knot. It's a ponytail brought up onto the head and secured with pins. Any woman with long hair must do something with it to keep it out of the soup and printer.

  • umm not to be rude but i thought Amish people could not have webcams

  • ..if you cant wear makeup ......use bobby pins........tv.....why do you have a computer with internet ?

  • Is that a green screen behind her, or is that your living room?

  • Your videos are very useful toward outsiders ever getting an idea of the mysteries of Amish culture. Without them, I have never been able to picture the clothing as described in any book.

I wonder if such videos have ever been done before, since most Amish refuse to have picture images taken of themselves, much less show how their clothing is fit on them.

  • Amish Dress

Symbolic of their faith, Amish clothing styles encourage humility and separation from the world. The Amish dress in a very simple style, avoiding all but the most basic ornamentation.

  • i find the amish culture to be a real christian culture...unlike most professing christians in america and in the world today...most if not all professing christians in america and modern societies of today are so unchrisitan...they love to see themselves naked on streets...what amish women are doing are real christian doctirine where it states int the bible...for women to adorn theselves with modest apparel...where what amish women does...BE A TRUE CHRISTIAN...

  • schatzentruber hahaha was zum geier ^^

  • Hey AD. Why did you leave the faith?

  • If Christ is in you , you do not leave the faith? Keep going for the lord.

  • i guess alot of women dont get to take the hair down before going to bed huh

  • That seems like a lot of work

  • wow you look real happy

  • Thanks !

  • Good job mom- you are so sweet!

  • thank you!=]

  • Tis woman seems very sweet. I cannot imagine that she is allowed to show her hair down in public let along on the internet. If I may comment, it also seems that her hair is cut straight across the bottom and that it is shorter than a woman of her age's hair would be if she never cut it. Is this woman practicing Swartzentruber Amish?

  • did you notice the lovely mural on the wall behind her?=]

    that should answer your question.

  • I see the mural, but I apologize, it doesnt answer my question. Amish "deception" is a group trying to help people deceived by the AMish lifestyle. They are not trying to deceive us into thinking they are Amish. So, no, I dont see how the mural answers my question. Thanks for commenting however.

  • the amishdeception people were raised Swartzentruber, but are not now members.

they made this video because a couple of people on their discussion board requested it.

  • I didn't know that woman was David Yoder's wife until MrDeleted just told me. Now I understand. Thank you very much!

  • Hey, this is the wife of David Yoder, the AmishDeception founder. They are not practicing Amish though.

    Nice greenscreen effect David!

  • OIC...I didnt know that ....now i get it. Thanks so much for the info.

  • AutymnRosa. Thank you for the kind words. No, I am not practing Swartzentruber Amish no more. Although I was born and raised that way. I guess that is why it comes so easy to dress up that way. I was hoping it would satisfy some of the viewers curiosity of what the Amish women go through to get dressed for the day.

  • religion is always so good to women...
