What I don't get about SA riot police is that I never see them use riots shields, I only see them use rubber bullets, which just makes the riots more angry and thus more rioting goes on. What they are supposed to do is have 20 or 30 riot police and keep the riots contained, and block rioters from going any further, and after a while the riots will calm down and stop.

The most effective way to disperse rioters is to shoot them with rubber bullets or throw stun grenades at them. This is what football fans coming to the world cup need to realise.
