This is without doubt the most powerful, moving, shocking opening sequence I had ever seen in my life. I was actually trembling as I was watching & listening to it. Bravo to Spike Lee, Denzel Washington, & most importantly- Malcolm X himself.

- There are very few with slave ancestors in the middle east

Despite this aggressive opening, people shouldn't assume that this film is all about racial hate. The most powerful part of the film is when Malcolm went to Mecca and realized that racial harmony can exist and even called the white men there his brothers.

This is a great openning by Spike Lee. On the otherhand I think Spike Lee is going overboard by sueing the movie producers of "Flags of Our Fathers" Because a black man didn't raise the flag. Denzel's amazing in this movie. In the anger and hatred of his voice I also hear hundreds of years of pain. For Malcolm (or any Black person) to forgive after all of that, I commend him fully. He's one of my heroes and idols.
