That really was beautiful. Lapsed student myself trying to get back into piano and this piece is the one I want to learn if I can ever get to be good enough. I have an easy version to try for now but even that is proving a bit of a task so I will have to be patient for now. :)
@scarym0nster are you a member of the adult beginner forum at pianoworld? - we have quarterly recitals to edge ourselves on and it's good fun - lots of support. lots of lapsed/not-beginners like us there as well as real beginners.
@sailwavedev Thanks for the info. I've had a look on there before so am aware of the forums. I'll aim to be more active there later in the year when I have my study built. I'll then have a dedicated space for practice as it's not always easy at the moment.
By the way, I did not look at your link until after I posted. If that's someone close to you I am sorry for your loss. We are expecting in July and I can only imagine how that must feel. :(
@scarym0nster no, though I have come to know the father a bit online - I admire him greatly because of his vaccine advocacy work since the loss of Lore to what is essentially a vaccine preventable disease. Both natural and acquired immunity wanes and adults often don't get boosters and of course due to the vast quantity of misinformation on the internet many parents are simple choosing to not vaccinate - the result being that some babies still to young to be vaccinated are tragically dying.
