  • Why are they breeding such "leggy" Lhasas these days? Looks more like a Tibetian Terriers than a Lhasa

    Oh, Brazil.

  • @chaoscleaner Maybe you are thinking Shih Tsu? Lhasas are more leggy but not as large as the Tibetian Terrier. I've seen short legged Lhasas but they rarely win shows against the longer legged ones. Brazil and Finland are producing some of the best looking Lhasas in the world. Parti Parade is now the most sought after party stud in the world.

  • @FreddyFrogger "Parti Parade is now the most sought after party stud in the world."

I bet you meant "parti stud" ? [g]

That wouldn't surprise me much, since there aren't that many "partis" out there.

And come on, there's no way to judge "most sought after stud." [g]

I did see some of his get, and some of them I like much better. Don't take it personally, I'm sure you may not care for what I have liked.

Ch. Friar Tuck won a lot back in the day (a parti) and I couldn't stand him. :)

  • @chaoscleaner: Nope. Not thinking Shih Tzu. In the 70's (America) I noticed a couple of leggy ones that looked more like T.T's. Of course they can move faster and look more showy. More leg, but they were also bigger....over what the AKC standard said. I'll bet this Party Parade is more than 11". Other than that, he is typey and nice. Cut an inch or two off and he'd actually fit that standard.

Finland and Brazil best looking? That's just your humble opinion, yes?

  • @chaoscleaner Parti Parade fits the AKA standards. He's one of the top Lhasa's in the world. As for Finland and Brazil, yes, that is my opinion.

  • @FreddyFrogger: AKA Standard? What's AKA? I can't even find it.

  • @chaoscleaner Typo. Here is the link: Try akc.org

  • @FreddyFrogger : Ah..that makes more sense.

"length from point of shoulders to point of buttocks longer than height at withers" I can only go by the way he looks and he looks more square."

"Size: Variable, but about 10 inches or 11 inches at shoulder for dogs, bitches slightly smaller." Yeah, it's that "variable" that can be the excuse to make them bigger..leggier.

Not my thing. Flashy often wins, and I blame the judges that put up flashy over what the standard says. But just my opinion
