  • i can do this without the suit

  • @JonathanCabrera1 Yea cool story but he does it with ease you do it sweating like crazy btw wtf were you trying to prove by posting your comment lawl.

  • @AQWGOD its called sarcasm bro

  • Dear Santa...

  • uhhm after watching that augmentation trailer from deus ex, you know with all the ppl living on the streets cuz they cant afford the medication etc, i feel great that were actually working on something thats better then internal support

  • @tvids88 i typed up trojan and it took me to a condom commercial....dumbass

  • @TheSovietPuppy You can't blame his/her small mind. Some of these retards grew up in a reality that was so blurred that they couldn't see where the line separating reality and fantasy was. Many of them have grown up (legally anyway) and still can't tell what is reality and fantasy.

  • Autonomous machines? Have people learned nothing from the Terminator series?

  • @OvoJeGovno Terminator was ai and bullshit, this is actually useful

  • BOOOOO!!! It took them 6 years to make that crap!?!? It took Troy hurtubise 2 years to make a full armor suit for humans it's called the Trojan just type that up

  • Comment removed

  • @tvids88 That suit doesn't really enhance your strengh, it's mostly just a body armor. Aka a piece of crap compared to this.

  • @Drcrazy93 nice job taking 9 months to reply bitch

  • @tvids88 How is that even relevant to the discussion? You were wrong and you're too immature to admit it. Come back in a few years, kid.

  • @Drcrazy93 k fine tard boy if you insist on talking like a school boy nerd with his kackeys pulled up to him head gear then so be it, I wasn't even trying to engage in a conversation so why does it matter if its relevant to the topic you brought up? you made one statement that was completely untrue followed by a come back statement by me, in know way was I trying to engage in a conversation with you. Your stuck up and think your always right, I never suggested that the trojan enhanced strengh

  • @Drcrazy93 I wasnt wrong at all theres an example of you being stuck up that is available for all of youtube to see, just because you think this is better doesnt mean it is, have you even seen videos on the trojan? It has about 50 very useful self defense features so you need to stop trying to fight with children, who the hell do you think you are if your trying to start things with a kid you must not be accepted by people your age so you think you have to take it out on kids, well guess what?

  • Respond to this video... Im no dumb ass and I can reconize an insecure person, you may think you could win this but you have nothing you should just leave your computer and try to do somthing with your life, it would be pretty hard to get some where from where you are now.

  • @tvids88 I can also recognize an insecure person, it's one who makes three angry replies with personal insults just because he cannot take criticism when commenting on a PUBLIC FORUM. If you weren't interested in having a conversation you didn't have to reply to begin with. " I never suggested that the trojan enhanced strengh" Then why are you even comparing the suits with eachother. Trojan is a body armor and this is a hydraulic exoskeleton, they're not even in the same league. Peace.

  • i hate that bigdaddyish design

i hope the various models it is made in will look cool and not dumb looking...

  • 2:22 on the left, I knew master chief was real, Go SPARTEN!

  • @XANDERXXZ looks like master chief and a bioshock big daddy bouncer put together lol

  • the main problem is that any new technology is first used for means of war and control of human beings. the philosophy needs to change.

  • halo spartan type armor here i come!!!

  • "end product will be 100% portable with it's own backpack power"

eh..........when might that happen exactly? Pretty big leap there I think.

  • EMP PROOF ???

  • My military email sent me that this was being tested last year. I also got information about the binding of boron to the carbon in cotton which effectively makes cotton harder than a diamond (IE bullet proof). Strangely enough the 7 billion that wnet into the ten year military regeneration project has become top secret, I wonder what the found out?

  • Hey, to the harpie who I sent to this page? PM me!

  • someones gonna need alot of saving to mass produce those things even without the armour and weapons....too bad :(

  • The Iron Man suit, Halo's MJOLNIR armor, the powered suits from Starship Troopers and Starcraft, that forklift thing from Aliens, Samus' suit from Metriod...

Yeap, this here is the grand daddy of them all!

  • im reading a cool manga atm called Red Eyes

about power armors very cool check it out

  • yeah!! Red Eyes rocks!! nearest thing to reality i think..

  • then need to make it so you can use your fingers while its being worn

  • this looks fuckin amazing just imagine in about 5 years what the possiblities of this development can bring

  • war.......war never changes ............whait a sec i think i heared that before : / cant remember

  • GREY FOX!!!!!!

  • GreyFox

  • boycot millitaries the are crazy mostupid people on Earth. no war . abolish money.

  • @TZMRussia

They don't do this for war, they do it to protect lives, to make a difference, and to keep people alive. The government, does not enjoy killing, nor do us as Americans, When we see a Nuke go off, we are in a state of awe. so Next time you judge someone, without any research just plain assumption, please do not hate them, or hold a grudge. and I am highly against war, and love all living things even you.

  • @MultiIPwnage I dont hate them or any living being on this planet, that the reason why i wrote that millitaries the most stupid people on Earth.

I you would have more neurons in your brain, you can understand me faster.peace

  • @TZMRussia Nah its not the military who are the idiots......try the politicans who misuse them. I think you might want to try some actual thinking before typing out ur ignorant bullcrap. This is coming from a former soldier.

  • IRON MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • SCV GOOD TO GO

  • even better if they developed it to be like iron man :P

  • The time of man is over, the time of technology is at hand!

  • I do not agree with the use of robots. The people who made this are incredibly smart and hugely intellectual but as great as it sounds and the amazing things that robots can do and achieve, this could be a grave mistake and will definately be used for bad, not good.

  • yea and what thing in the world is used for good?

  • I could sure use the one shown in 2:19. Can't wait for it to actually be a working prototype rather than just a model.

  • i so want one!

  • If this is used for war the world would probably be hell

  • Hideo Kojima has forseen this years ago.

  • metal gear rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • To the morons who think nothing "good" came from development for the military, get the hell off the internet and throw out your computer. You can thank the Department of Defense for both.

  • @sephiroth90876 The internet was created by the Swiss-based institute called CERN, Scientist used it as a means of communicating with each other and sharing scientific data. =P, so it was not the military and it was not americans ;)

  • @sephiroth90876 True, they were popularised and pushed by the military heavily where commercial enterprises ignored them, but you actually have CERN (Tim Berners Lee) to thank for the Internet, and Manchester University (UK) to thank for computers.

  • @DeltaWhiskeyOscar Actually ARPA, before they became DARPA, with the university of Berkley, MIT, etc had more to do with the creation of the internet than Cern did.

  • @sephiroth90876 well actually the military just increased the technology, they didnt start it, its because they have a shit load of money to do these projects.

  • @sephiroth90876 On the other hand, that money could be spent on entirely "civil" research and that could maybe bring more results that exclusively help humanity & society.

  • @sephiroth90876 I agree, but this wont work in EMP enviornment. Too much dependance on electronics.

  • I sure wish I had one of these, would make life a whole lot easier. Only thing is, I don't want to wear the helmet.

  • This is great. I want one for Christmas. Imagine using it in construction or farming.

  • stupid ,all about war .

you can use this in another way like some one lose his hand

not using it to make some one lose his hand

    stupid

  • Does your primitive mind realize that most of the greatest inventions in this world have come from "war"? Wish it away all you want and dream of rainbows and unicorns but "war" will never go away. That is a fact!

  • @stoneagearcher war... war never changes... hehe, had to say it.

  • @stoneagearcher and @sephiroth90876 This suit is worth our rights and billions of lives lost? gtfo

  • i would rather have a life saving super soldier and be a one handed civilian .

  • People need to stop bitching about it being made by the military. The military is the only place that has enough money to spend on this type of thing. And, since they built it they get to use for what they want first. It might not be fair, but eventually it will be come to the public.

Anyway, it doesn't look like it would be very effective for combat, did you see how much trouble he had walking? He could very well be unable to crouch, so would only be a big, strong, but vulnerable target.

  • little Jeep we all know and love today. The point is that the military uses technology to advance the art of warfare, but the designer keeps in mind non-military applications as well. The HAL (Jap) system has no visible atachment for weapons because it is being sold straight to the public. It can't compete physicaly with this system because it doesn't have to. No one needs to be able to lift 200lb 500 times in there home.

  • For those of you crying about how this will be used as a weapon before it is given to the general public let me make you aware of somethings. The Bow and Arrow were designed and used as weapons before they were replaced by the gun and took on their current job as hunting tools. The gun was first (and still is) used for warfare before it was used to hunt. The Jeep Wrangler was the first light weight, offroad vehicle, designed for use in WWII before it was released to the general public as the....

  • This is in the Surrogates into. ha

  • Prototype for the Ironman suite.

  • One of the missing details about Sarcos Exoskeleton...

You see, the creators of Hybrid Assistive Limb HAL-5 did mention about using 100 volt batteries. The Berkeley Bionics Exoskeleton uses a 1 pound battery. What about the Sarcos? They didn't mention a thing about the Sarcos power unit.

  • Lol typical, the application would be warfare. Not thinking about making this the new standard for those who have lost limb control (e.g. new wheelchair etc).

  • Dude, just 'cause they are developing it for War in mind it doesn't mean it cannot be used else where.

  • fuckin hell!! Imagine the fuckinbeatin you could give some cunt if you were wearin one of these!!

  • i want to see him fight the alien queen w/ that thing!!!

  • uhhhhh, you do know this is sponsored in part by DARPA(they make the stuff for the cia)

  • bulletproof armor over exoskeleton running on solar power.... now they need a catchy non copyrighted name.

  • I like the whole suit and the helmet. But the helmet is just a motorcycle helmet!

    I want it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! XD

  • no its a powered motorcycle helmet

  • this could be really good for the police and swat

  • They should've showed some really cool shit like him punching through a wall! LOL

  • actually the us exoskeleton is a lot stronger than the Japanese one. the Japanese one is based on the initial strength of the user

  • Also the Japanesse one is not designed to be as durable or work as fast for extended periods of time. It was designed for assisted living and hospital help.

  • lol the japanese did this better.

    look up Cyberdyne HAL suit.

  • LOL The Japanese do everything better.

  • I live in japan...and that is not really true...at all.....

  • Well I live in the United States... and you compare a Ford Tempo to a Honda Accord and you'll understand why I feel that way.

  • Hmm I wonder how much of ford is still made in the USA anymore...now we tend to send alot of our business elsewhere just because it is cheaper...so I wonder who is really making fords..

  • So what does you living in Japan have anything to do with you knowing about this?

  • actually we were talking more about cars than any type of powered armor. What I have been seeing is a stronger chassis and frame from american vehicles, while a lighter engine built for prolonged use in japanese vehicles.

  • lol.. anything that turns out good from the asian's turn out to be crap after wards

  • WANT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • even though the suit is bulky in an article it said it would only feel like an extra 15 lbs but everything is assisted... i'd say he could as many pull ups as lat pull downs

  • Hahaha, nice.

Really, i hope you guys understand that the real problem in making all these fantasies to the actual front-line is an adequate energy source. Everything else can be easily accomplished. And there are no such sources.

Well, to give you an example. Suppose we want to make a spacecraft. You can make wonderfully looking spacecraft, but if you don't have proper engines and fuel, it would be a pile of garbage.

  • There are sources of energy that can be used, but they have not been developed to this type of necessity, and such research would take decades to perfect. The best they could do with this type of technology would be to have a squadron of exo-soldiers who are constantly being escorted by a vehicle with a generator to which they woudl be attached by ambilical cables. However, that is not very practical, even in urban combat.

  • however now they are developing ways of transporting electricity wirelessly through massive generators. I think that within 15 years if it possible we will accomplish it

  • That's true, and I look forward to the day when we never again need stupid wires and cables. I've got way too many consoles hooked up to the same tv >:D

  • Within the next 15 years the crysis nanosuit will be made reality lol

  • what a couple of PLT. of Marines could do with these make some noise!! this is were it starts.

  • Just saw something about this recently. It seemed more efficient and the sketch for its outer-plating/armor looked similar to a Space Marines (Warhammer 40k) power armor. ^_^

  • SWEET!!! when can i get one?

  • I want to see him doing pull ups with this thing.

  • 2:46 Robocop.

  • Once these things are being sold to Asian kids, we're doomed.

'Hacks' wont be like in 'em ol' video games. The black market is going to be full of cannon and laser mods.

  • awesome. next thing you know, everyone walking down main street will look like master chief and samus.

  • hahahaha

  • MASTUR CHEEF!!!

  • sweet, only 6 years? Wow

  • If they were able to build that in six years I wonder when we will be able to complete the Halo related suit

  • What happened to MOAB? j/k.. if they can make one that runs really fast I'll be sold

  • Sweet. But here's what would matter to me a lot: endurance. If it shuts down within 24 hours of activation (considering constant use, of course), then what? I they can make one of these that can last at least a week of constant use and can be quickly and easily recharged, THEN I'll be sold.

  • Maybe they could make one that uses solar power or kinetic energy (like that Seiko watch) to extend the life of the batteries. It probably uses up too much energy to be powered completely by those methods though....

  • Seen a japanese one that's self contained and doesn't need that big ass wire coming off the top.

I wouldn't need a week of continuous use between charges. Hell, I'd be sold with a day, and recharge at night for my construction business. Gimme one of those with a nailgun and a sawsall on the hand, and a screwgun and impact hammer on the other and THEN I'm totally sold. I dont care if I can only use it for 6-8 hours at a time. Thats 6-8 I can demolish a house in with that kind of power.

  • The Flood and Covenant better watch their backs...

  • this looks so retarded , go America go :))

  • I so want one of those.

  • Scuse-me! My post landed on the wrong page but isn't technology great anyway... While I'm here don't get conned by the 'MAGIC GOD' idea... They weren't magic & their name wasn't 'GOD' either it was "ELOYHIM" & they're high-tech & weren't grey or green either... They were about 14ft tall & the word 'GOD' actually means soul or spirit of a dead priest or king! WE'RE CREATED WITH PURE SCIENCE & DNA MANIPULATION & both Adam & Christ were both IVF children & science could do a virgin birth right now!

  • you are a fucking idiot

  • wtf... this is fucking great! Everyone should read this shit for a good laugh.

  • dude!!!!

    starship troopers marauder lol

  • I want one for work! This is something out of this world. In the next few years 'Special assualt units' will spearhead wars!

  • And thus we are growing closer to initiating our own SPARTAN program.....Grunts beware!!!!!!

  • japan already has its mobile suits! :D

  • I so want that guys job

  • the concept is interesting but it looks slow and clumsy, it definitly needs armor and weapons for war purposes because who are we kidding this thing is slow!!

  • actually, DARPA selected it because the final version would enhance speed, in addition to the other criteria

  • tha bad thing is it needs a power cable.

  • yeah, it would have to carry some kind of internal power source.... and who knows how heavy, bulky and EXPENSIVE that would be!!!

  • holy shiiiiiiiit i want that thingy!!!!

  • Its almost like a ninja from metal gear solid....:D

  • i want one!!!!

  • Attach rocket boosters to it!

    "I ammm Iron Maaaan!"

  • wow

  • so how much??? lol. but seriously, are these gonna be released to the public or just the military cause...i want one!

  • They just don't get it - why the hell does the exoskeleton need us? All it needs is an intelligent chip - or a fly by wire link to a human far away sitting in virtual reality. The robots are going to take over!

  • The first versions will be like the loader in Aliens.

  • looks like ironman or Halo

  • damn i never should have retired the army! i wanna try 1 of those sumday ya know! hehehe, the suit lacks 1 important thing though, a big mutha-fuckin gun!!!!

  • amen

  • now all they need is some small mounted missles, jet boosters on the feet and hands, and a sexy gold and red paint job....and then you'll have the real Iron Man suit.

    =]

  • ...the advancement of technology will be the end of us all. what's next? robotic race? world ending missiles? babies with ray-guns!?!?! besides that i like the exoskeleton XD

  • Great, psychos with superhuman strength.

  • it would be cool to have those exo-skeletons the matrix revolotions only with some more armor...

  • Do you guys understand what this means???!

Union workers could be 20 times more lazy!!

    Technology ftw!!!

  • This would be cool for disarticulating (removing limbs) of people. Imagine playing stretch with a couple of these babies.

  • Apart from the military this thing would be great for building stuff. I mean, it can handle huge loads, imagine all the happy workers.

It could also be used in rescue operations like getting people out of places where they are trapped.

  • I'll be back!

  • Will be useful in the war against China

  • FOR THE IMPERIUM!!!

  • Halo Spartans will be next.

  • SPACE MARINES !ATTAAAACK ! :D

  • It's precursor iron-tech.

  • Manga Sux. ElOmarco sux. This video rox. Amazing stuff.

  • Manga is better than DC comics, bub! XD

  • amazing project

  • The difference between americans and japaneese is that in the us its gonna be used as a weapon. In Japan the HAL is created to ease work and to help disabled people.

  • Luckily, this isn't an either/or situation.

  • Hmmm how many things could go wrong with this? lol

  • Indeed, but just imagine how amusing those will be, and that there is still the armored gorilla suit waiting for whomever at the end of that particular lulzfest.

  • i just read about this in pop - sci - it is awesome! the dinal product might stretch from the field of battle - to getting rid of the wheelchair

  • Fantastic, reminds me of the movie: ROBOT JOX.

  • "American soldiers are well trained and physically fit"...lol

  • This is so cool! 2:23 reminds me of Ironman (which probably won't be too far fetched in the future). I agree that it should have applications otside of war like helping the disabled.

  • this could be used for alot more than war, like some one that has never walked,or people that have we joints in their legs, the possbiltes are endless but one day they will have things that look like gundams this is the first step towards it

  • I agree Dude Gundam Wing here we come, small ones of course.... lol

  • i want one

  • Yip!!!! lol

  • Spartan II project?

  • do you guys think you could crush someone's head with this thing... like squeezing....

or what would happen if he full out punched something with that thing?

  • lol i want to know how they go this...

  • It's Iron man/that giant goliath thing from the third matrix movie.

    SWEET!!

  • The storm troopers are coming!!!!

  • not saying its a bad thing, more of a badass thing. would let me have some more peace at night if i knew my friends serving would have access to higly armored suits while doing dangerous missions. no to say that there wouldnt be a counter to this, but at least it would give us sommething to stop gunfire

  • Haha this is to plump to fight with it and it offers not enough protection in the battlefield. U will be a big target for ur enemys. I dont know why this scientists cant invent an armor which is builded around the body with some small engines or artificial muscles at the joints or the points where they are needed.

  • Did you watch 2:22?

  • For those talking about wasteful military spending... um... are you like... evil? I mean, I know you guys hate the military, but do you really want to see soldiers dying? This thing could carry enough armor to make a soldier immune to anything smaller than a damn rpg. It could carry chopped down versions of non-lethal weapons such as pain and sound guns to reduce enemy casualties. Oh and, yes, they are being used for civilian purposes - japanese farmers about to get exos, for instance.

  • But can they dance the robot in it?
