  • I'd love to hear a conversation between him and Sonny Rollins about the application of calypso rhythms to jazz. Clifton Anderson does it, Louie Jordan was rockin' it back in the '40s, Monk had a touch of it in some tunes (probably from livin' in San Juan Hill, NYC), there was a nod from Nat Cole, and Satchmo too.
