I'm a bit confused. This guy appears to be throwing furniture around at an airport. If I was at an airport and someone was angrily throwing furniture I'd hope they would be dealt with. How can you tell whether an angry person holding a table in the air is going to be dangerous or not? You don't wait for them to harm someone before you decide to detain them. They tasered him, they didn't intend to kill the guy.

There is no excuse to be physically belligerent when entering a foreign country. Throwing chairs metal and plastic objects around is violent behavior which is not a good idea. Many people believe that the officers should have talked it through. The guy should have talked his way through as well. Even if he had to wait 10 days, throwing objects to cause damage is wrong.

On the other hand officers should not have tazed him until they tried to get him to calm down.

We still dont know enough about the circumstances of this man's death to debate fairly about the safety of taser guns.

For example, he may have had pre-existing medical problems or problems brought about once the taser had been administered for example falling and hitting his head or fitting - people commonly dismiss these but these need to be considered. I am however against the Taser being used in this case simply because there was no confrontation with the police.
