Ich have his Ride and its just so great! Works out in every situation, perfect projection, complex sound but with a clear defined spectrum, and a fucking awesome bell! Great cymbal!
were you there when it happened? an 80% discount for a small, unrecognised drummer who has no market to push the cymbals to sounds completely out of the question.
if and hopefully when i get the chance to apply for endorsment, i would prefer either zildjian or meinl, both are fantastic companies and bring forth great musical products
@MarkOfPower yeah I prefer Paiste but I use Meinl right now due to the prices. But the more and more I look into them and the higher models the more and more I like Meinl. =]
i dont know why people are poor commenting you but you are right, he might be apart of the character basis i mean corpsegrinder is the basis for nathan as we all know but most of us dont know much of the basis for the other guys pickles could definately be drum wise based off roddy the drum set up is very similar and nowhere close to genes set up but i'd say pickles is like a cross of roddy and axle rose maybe
@Coreyf24 I have to disagree with ya on the sponsor lottery...It sometimes happens when an average drummer gets hired by a band that's already signed and then that drummer gets endorsements trough the likes of Paiste and Pearl...true story.
@Coreyf24 Actually, in drumming you don't get sponsored. You endorse the drum company, and they might send a new cymbal/drum your way every once in a while.
@FOXGEAR92 Those two words mean essentially the same thing... Generally when you get sponsored they do not send you a free cymbal/drum every once in a while. They will ask you what products of theirs you want to use, and they'll send them all to you free of charge (or possibly make you pay for the shipping depending on your deal with them).
In exchange for this, you use their gear at all your shows/expos/clinics and you tell everyone that you love their products.
@Coreyf24 Not exactly true.... I know this drummer that is overrated to shit!!!!! , plays very basic beats and he only does little national gigs (not even going somewhere far nationally) just local gigs around the place. And he was lucky enough to have some guy from sabian (agent or whatever) who must of been high and drunk of his face to give him a 80% discount on all sabian cymbals.
@Coreyf24 yes exactly. I mean he's not the technically most gifted drummer out there which people claim (making him very overrated) but he definitely has alot of skills
@Coreyf24 Also, just simply word of mouth from people that use this gear is every beneficial to gear manufacturers. If people are going around telling others how good their equipment is, the company that produces it will have more people interested in the product. That equals money and business for them down the road!
@Coreyf24 you can get sponsored easier if your in a percussion group, two of my friends are in one.... extreme rhythm they are sponsored by a few people, promark being one
@Coreyf24 I disagree, I have a Ludwig endorsement and an Istanbul endorsement. You have to get the local importer to like your band or projects so that they can contact the company and hook you up with major discounts. Getting FREE sponsoring (so that they pay you to use your gear) THAT is difficult.
does it matter all that much if your recording it and editing the sound though :/

That ride sounds like a trashcan. But then it's all a matter of taste.

@mikesweet69 Its a double kick pedal and he only uses the left pedal so the beater can be where it is.

How come not many pro's play Classics, they may be cheaper, but in my opinion they are the best. All of them are great but Classics are my favorite

Why does the Serpent's Ride NOT sound like that in the soundclips on Meinl's site?
MINIWHEAT70 1 year ago
Because all of the Byzance cymbals are hand hammered, which means every cymbal sounds unique!

How hard is it to get sponsored?
iequalztehgod 2 years ago
Essentially you need to be in an internationally recognized band that tours, or you have to be a drummer that regularly does clinics/festivals.
And to get invited to do festivals and clinics you need to be a fairly well known drummer with a fuck ton of skill.
In short, getting sponsored IS quite difficult.
