good video man! i have a hpi e10 drift monster mustang and i accidentally plugged the red and black wires into the charger wrong, next thing you know, the charger was smoking and was hot. i pulled it out and let it cool. plugged it into the battery correctly and idk if its charging or not... is it the charger or battery? i can use the battery but the car like drives than stops than drives. can you please tell me whats going on
y do ppl say they get like 25 30 mins of run time with 3s? i run full speed speed runs with mine with a 5000mah 3s 11.1v lipo and get run times of about 1 hour and half. sometimes more. i have a onyx 3s 5000mah 25c 11.1v lipo with onyx 235 charger
Be carefull recharging Li-Ion and LiPo cells after being at 2,5 volts or below a day or more. Plating of metallic copper happens inside, and then when you recharge it, some times these copper shorts short out the battery, resulting in catastrophic failure, bursting battery and flames, and this happens out of the blue.
i had the SAME problem with my firefox lipo pack. it would read from the charging plug but for some reason i got no reading on the actual tabs themselves. wierrrdd =/
dude i saw your video response today, sorry, very late.
simply those batteries if are death (0.00v, i can add under 2.5volts they can be tough as death cells) you can't repair them. They are very cheap batteries you can't expect anything very good.
JUST desold the cells, charge them at 0.5C one by one at 3.7v and, if in a week they are not under 3.6v they are ok, if not, burn them overcharging :D

••• UPDATE 11/2010 •••
Attempts to stabilize the charge within each one of the cells failed with the exception of one cell that actually held the charge properly. The other two when charged (without balance cables) would lose its charge fully in 24 hours or less while sitting unused after being charged.
The pack was fully discharged and discarded unfortunately.
i suspected your response would be like this, i guess once lipo cells start the deteriation process then there is no way of recovering them., believe me i have tried every trick in the book.
"believe it or not, the cells were so low that the charger was not seeing them for whatever reason. After a few hours of trickle charging them they are BACK! "
So I got 2 x turnigy 2200mah for a Blade 400 from HK last week, just got around to putting EC3 connectors on them to find one of them only reads ~8v. Did the same thing you did that I found elsewhere with trickling some charge in via NiMH program, and now it's got some voltage.

I had the same problem as this with my Turnigy 500mAh 3s lipo! I see a video on YouTube how to bring dead lipos back to life!
I separated all three cells took the bad one out and done as it said on that video and re built my battery and now it's as food as new!

@605manuel yeah but you gotta cut a slit in the sidewall of the battery tray for the wires to stick out

I can't get that cell any higher than 4.10v while the other's go to 4.20v on balance.
Just curious if yours stayed usable or not, I'll check mine in the morning to see if that cell actually held any of it's charge or not.

@Unsta Glad that method worked for you, not for me. The cells were bad.
