  • Terry Hall in The Colourfield > Terry Hall in Fun Boy Three although i agree this song was a true new wave classic.

  • tefal head!

  • Ah ajuda ai vai, Moisés?

  • this Album was n still is classic!

  • The Specials were better but I like this, it's just a different era, Terry had an eye for what was going on at the time and got bored easily...you can tell when you look back at all his work. Least he wernt boring! But my heart lies with Ska and The Specials. :-)

  • shame on you, the speicals were way better

  • Bethan Peters from Delta 5 on bass. . . I think! Aw, mind your own business then! :-)

  • There's a weapon we can use in our defence......silence :)

  • truley brilliant song thumbs up form me!!!!!

  • this song is utterly amazing! the lyrics, the arrangement along with the feeling terry hall puts into the performance sends shivers up my spine every time i hear it.

  • Great song but nothing else here is any good.

    From the Specials to nowhere.

  • @stellaviolens what the hell does that mean?

  • @bababooey7576

It means I wasn't happy with the songs written after 1982 by Hall, Staples etc .

  • @stellaviolens who'd have thought?

  • This just popped back into my head after years of laying dormant in the reccesses of my 80's mind. Had to search it out again and so glad I did. Love it.

  • Wish I could find the ürdu version. I have it on vinyl, but I'd like to see it on video. It was always my favorite one. Terry Hall's my man! He IS the coolest!!!!!!!

  • the remake was awfull, those la wierd sisters wilson philips.

  • love this song never liked them at the time but now love this song. love the words.xxx

  • What i love the most about the video is how happy he is when he sings the smile is dazzling, and is that Heather ( one leg ) Mills on the Bass Guitar ? That drummer is hot i would... cant beat a sensible hair do in the 80's phwoarrrrrrrr.

  • I love the chick on the drums :)

  • @87SaL87

That`s June. The drummer with the Communards.

  • @merlinbus - well spotted , was doing me head wondering where I recognised her from .

    :-))

  • @87SaL87 : Looks like they rent some lady musicians from The Communards...

  • Great song, great version but a lot of scary hair. The eighties should be heard and not seen. :-)

  • The days when pop music was made by people who had passed puberty. I wonder if anyone will be clicking on Bieber in 30 years?

  • @frankspencer lmao Justin who?.......they may bring a doll out of him in 30 years one like a barbie....you can take them apart bit by bit!

  • drummers a bit of alright....pity shes a rug muncher

  • great song, but always thought the drummer looked like myra hindley

  • off-key chorus and backing singer and the repetitiveness should make this song really annoying, on paper, but it is pure genius! Magic!

  • I've died and gone to heaven !!! bring back the 80's

  • they dont make classic songs like this anymore...80s music rocked....

  • Thumbs up if Pete White of the Venture Brothers brought you here!

  • Who wrote this song? Fun Boy Three or The Go Gos? Both versions are brilliant.

  • @TonyDanza76

Both!! It was written by Terry Hall and Jane Weildlin. It is said that they were in a relationship at the time. Also said to be one of the demo's considered by the Specials just before the band split.

  • Sublime.

  • Immense tune, loved this back in the day and still love it now, happys days

  • what was happening with the hair back then!! remember it so so well lol

  • How did this not get on Now 1??

  • jesus terry get a haircut lol

  • @locorojo25 Terry Hall was asked in an interview what instruction he gave the hairdresser when he wanted a haircut and he replied "can I have a Terry Hall please" :D

  • .

    HONEST

    .

  • My mum and dad are dancing in this video!

  • Used to have this song on vinyl! Played it over and over 'cos I just loved it! It's so full of atmosphere - and to my ears has stood the test of time, it still sounds so good!

  • he looks a bit donnie darko?? cute

  • great song ...shame bout the hair

  • Hi Stansara, I thought you may like to know that Terry Hall wrote the bones of this song and sent it to Jane Weidlen(?) who finished it and had the GoGos record it. The FBT recorded thier version about a year later. The song is credited to both of Jane and Terry in both versions.

  • Great song

  • I loved this song!

  • Coventry's finest ... making Special music since late 70s ... long may it continue Terry

  • I prefer this version to the Go-Go's version.

  • this was the last single by the band back in 83 a cover by the go go,s featuring belinda carlise. check out the drummer she was in amazulu and the body snatchers

  • Love this :D great post,thanks!

  • love the music, the lyrics, the mood, the fashion

    so natural!

  • Try Go Gos version. Jane Wiedlin and Terry Hall were an item and are both credited on the song

  • yeah he wrote the title and some of the lyrics in a letter to jane, she then wrote the music and reworked the lyrics and produced the first version which is the best, even though this one is also very good.

  • Terry Hall is so cool!

  • @rimmel65

cooler than a polar bear in a fridge

  • So happy to have found this again!! Boppin round the 'puter :-))

  • classic

  • Brilliant :)

  • Just love it ...
