Ive just bought my first hotas (T-flight x). I was wondering if there is a common button layout most people use or if people generally use their own. Example wasd is very common in fps games. Ive googled relevant terms and did not find anything. Also id be interested in recommended software for alternate functions and shift keys etc for this controller. I own Lomac fc2, Il2 1946 and fs 2004 (althogh ive not installed them yet). If anyone could help me out id be grateful.
@basgetz yes you can. but not with this stick. there are sticks like the x52 from saitek witch have a twist rudder system. so instead of using the peddals you twist the stick left or right. braking can be done by buttons.
can u pls tell me if this stick has a twist radar or do i have to buy a radar seperetly? i searched every where but coulnt see if it has radar contorl.if does have one than i will buy one of this Thanks
@muzeklijstje sometimes if there's an engin failure and your in a dual engine jet you can't pit both throttles up it will damage it so you just put I up and if u lose hydraulics and can't steer you will move 1 throttle up to go one way an vise versa
@TheIgnorantBastrd A real A-10? I'd say someone well versed in the simulator could certainly get the apu/engines, and all the avionics started up. Taxi and take off too I'm sure. Landing is another matter. Sims on a home computer fail to really show you what a good approach looks and feels like.
Having 100 hours in a simulator is not the same as having 100 hours of real flight.
In a simulator you "Know" that you will survive if something goes wrong, up there you need to focus if things go wrong, you need to remember things in a split second.
Same rules to airline pilots aswell as warplane pilots / F1 drivers - you must have a certain amount of IQ and be able to do several things at one time.
You guys should check out JoyLoc Gaming Brackets. Perfect for HOTAS systems. Joystick will sit just were it should be too. Pretty cool. Video's and pictures will be uploaded soon.
@zeitzeph is yours secured in any way? Or just sitting? That part worried me, too. It will stay still sitting on a desk if you lift it to move to/from idle?
@12rangoon12 Oh the thing is heavy enough that you can just leave it there. There is a friction adjustment if you somehow are on steroids and move it.

@cs512tr it would be cool if they made DCS F-18 where you get to fly the whole F-18 series and have a mission where you fly the Blue angels.

Can someone explain to me why you would need dual throttles in a flight sim? Why would you make one engine go faster than the other...

none of these nerds that play flight sims ever talk on their review videos of the flight stick how lame go learn english dumb ass.

Thanks for the info think I'll save for a GTX670 instead the airbases are a bit laggy so I'll get by with the X52 Pro.
