checkout 'Australian UB40 Show' which is a cover band from the land down under, the lead singer there would of been a perfect replacement for Ali .. sounds alot better then this Duncan fella. This video was his first performance, give the guy a break! ..I had the honor of being the band's interpreter in Lima-Peru this last week on their Labour of Love IV tour. Awesome concert! Ali is not irreplaceable. Duncan has really surpassed his predecessor by far. I agree with raggajones12..He sounds fuckin great!

saw ub40 in the o2 in dublin last night. he's a great singer. true he's not ali, but he really is good and i think everyone should give him their support. if ali is out, he's out. i was just glad to see them in action again!!!

I just went to see this sham of what they billed as UB40 They started an hour and 15 minutes late and then sent this karaoke version of a lead singer out. How dare they take our money under false pretenses. This guy stunk! What really gets me is why in the world wouldn't they have Robin sing lead at least he sounds like Ali. You are correct in 9 out of 10 cases, but 'From the Jam' have a fantastic vocalist in Russell Hastings & he performs with an energy that Paul Weller wouldn't have now, you ask anyone that has been to a recent FTJ concert! ( & most of the punters are original Jam fans!) You're right about Duncan Campbell though!

why didn't they back him up? Well why should they have? Why would you back anyone up with something you don't agree with. If he'd told them to jump off a cliff should they have backed him up and done it. He wasn't the leader of the band and never was - it was always completely equal. If a friend of 30 years asked you to do something unreasonable would you do it just to back them up? Or would you refuse to be a mug and stand up for what you believe in?

Biggest disappointment of the weekend: UB40's set on Friday... with lead vocalist Ali Campbell and keyboardist Mickey Virtue both gone, it just wasn't the same band. They brought in Ali's brother Duncan to sing, but he hadn't learned the lyrics yet and had to resort to a teleprompter for songs everyone in the audience knew by heart. The result was UB20 karaoke, a pale imitation of the real thing.

Take no notice of Alirocksmyworld, this person is a bitter fool. Hates the fact that UB40 have continued, would prefer that all their office staff and crew lost their jobs. Hates any success that UB40 has and sleeps with a sick bowl next to the bed seeing all the huge shows Ub40 are doing, how sad and nasty.
Actually I am now happily married and have no romantic interest in Duncan what so ever he has always been a kind considerate caring person and even though we split he was always kind to me. It seems like you are the one with the problem why don't you stop coming across as an obsessive bitter and twisted person and enjoy Ali for what hes doing and UB40 for what they are doing and make life a nicer place
No samples just Duncan doing his stuff - for a first gig he did darn well and keep going from strength to strength. He certainly won't need 30 years to rise up to the rest of UB40s height at this rate. Go DunX :)

Do you honestly think that Central News would have put it on tv with a "can u tell the difference" angle on it if it had been sampled? Of course not! I was there.. The sound you hear is that of the two Campbell brothers blending together... it is Robins voice you can hear, not Alis.. he has also made this statement on the UB40 bulletin board.. Im not sure what definitive proof you need, but, I assure u, it is not sampled..

saw ub40 in the o2 in dublin last night. he's a great singer. true he's not ali, but he really is good and i think everyone should give him their support. if ali is out, he's out. i was just glad to see them in action again!!!

There is only one UB40 Im afraid and they were at the Rainbow. Robbie Williams is NOT take that, Ali Campbell is Not UB40. UB40 were brilliant at the Rainbow, cant wait for December. Robin and Duncan sound excellent together. I can't believe Ali now calls himself. Ali Campbells UB40 when it is him and a load of session musicians who play with other bands like Award, really original band then, what a pity, seems a tad desperate. UB40 are legends. I just went to see this sham of what they billed as UB40 They started an hour and 15 minutes late and then sent this karaoke version of a lead singer out. How dare they take our money under false pretenses. This guy stunk! What really gets me is why in the world wouldn't they have Robin sing lead at least he sounds like Ali. It's the voice that sold the records folks!

You are correct in 9 out of 10 cases, but 'From the Jam' have a fantastic vocalist in Russell Hastings & he performs with an energy that Paul Weller wouldn't have now, you ask anyone that has been to a recent FTJ concert! why didn't they back him up? Well why should they have? Why would you back anyone up with something you don't agree with. If he'd told them to jump off a cliff should they have backed him up and done it. He wasn't the leader of the band and never was - it was always completely equal. If a friend of 30 years asked you to do something unreasonable would you do it just to back them up? Or would you refuse to be a mug and stand up for what you believe in?

Biggest disappointment of the weekend: UB40's set on Friday... with lead vocalist Ali Campbell and keyboardist Mickey Virtue both gone, it just wasn't the same band. They brought in Ali's brother Duncan to sing, but he hadn't learned the lyrics yet and had to resort to a teleprompter for songs everyone in the audience knew by heart. The result was UB20 karaoke, a pale imitation of the real thing.

Actually I am now happily married and have no romantic interest in Duncan what so ever he has always been a kind considerate caring person and even though we split he was always kind to me. Do you honestly think that Central News would have put it on tv with a "can u tell the difference" angle on it if it had been sampled? Of course not! I was there.. The sound you hear is that of the two Campbell brothers blending together... it is Robins voice you can hear, not Alis.. he has also made this statement on the UB40 bulletin board.. Im not sure what definitive proof you need, but, I assure u, it is not sampled..
