If I studied the facts, OF COURSE I know the scope of the video. Trust me, I've been trying to get the so-called pledge expunged off the face of the planet. Look up the "Newdow" case (another Supreme Court case). That genius tried and failed. Nationalism seems to run rampant in our country. Please believe, I am not knocking your video. I actually appreciate it quite a bit. I'm just a factoid nerd who really gets serious about the details because that's where the zealots will get you.

If you are really interested, Phil Donohue did some lectures on this case too. He has some footage on YouTube that is quite good and accurate as well. You won't believe what happened after the ruling (which is still called one of the worst Supreme Court rulings every handed down). The effects were devistating. "Under God" should be taken out of the pledge too. That's not very cool if you're an atheist (no god), Buddhist (no god), or Hindu (multiple gods). Separation of church & state.

I don't have the means to make a video but this is a VERY well-known and heavily documented case. It was even featured on PBS, but of course, the details are better read in reputible history books. I just happen to be in a law class that is specifically dealing with landmark Supreme Court cases, and the Gobitis case is the one on which my group is going to do a presentation. It's very important to note that they LOST the case. Estimates are that 1000 or more J.W.'s were persecuted.

This info was wrong, as well as the spelling of the family's name. The court stenographer accidentally spelled the Gobitas name as Gobitis & so it stays. The Gobitas' LOST their case in the Supreme Court & J.W.'s were persecuted, churches were burnt down, the Gobitas children were taunted, a J.W. man was even castrated. The ruling was overturned 3 yrs later. "Under God" was added in the 50s because of the Commie scare. Read: "A People's History of the Supreme Court" by Peter Irons.

ISamuell, I am a fellow Athiest. The same reasons that I am an Athiest are the same reasons I also believe it is most likely we that the moon landing is a hoax and I no for sure the presentation made by NASA of the moon landings is a fake. @rayscuba Well it was good they censored, the in error added part, to the marketing ploy to sell flags to schools. It is childish believers that keep pushing their nonsense onto others. They cooled off the disaster incidents of getting the "thank god" witnesses on camera when M.M.O'Hair first wrote about that stupidity, but they are bringing it back with gusto. "Thank god one child made it out of the plane with 99% burns" but forgetting their god ripped to shreads the rest?? Laughable kids.
