@BrentWilliams710 Definately not the same sound as St. Anger's snare. Personally I'm a fan that they used the 'trash-can snare' on St. Anger. This here isn't the same, this one still has a little of that standard snare sound, Lars' on St. Anger was all out steel, none of that 'smack' sound. But yeah, all in all Megadeth fans are more tolerant, and imo better fans, and I'm a huge fan of both bands.

I used to play soccer with Shawn and sleep at his house. He was one of our top soccer players until he discovered music. He played for both competitive and local soccer teams. On the local team, he beat my team one game 4-0 and he got all four goals. Still remember that game because i got kicked in the nuts and couldn't run. Next game we got revenge beating his team 12-0. As a kid he never stopped laughing. He was a clown. I still remember the drum set in his basement. I am proud of Shawn.
I'm surprised how cheap that snare is to buy. Aluminum snares are getting more popular among other brands, but they charge, at least, 3 times the price. I want that snare!

a lot of people bash Drover as a shitty drummer but he really seems like a team player (and cool guy) in the Megadeth camp which adds a lot of value to the bands energy and cause, the same with Chris, both these guys work well with Dave and both are technically sound musicians (Chris is a virtuoso)...everyone wants Marty and Nick to come back but those guys weren't team players (towards the end) and could never produce anything with Dave and therefore could never come back

I dont know much about drumming to be honest. But it seems as if Shawn is technically well trained (as all Megadeth members had been) but he is not a beast like Dave Lombardo or Nick Menza.

I think he's doing a good job. Megadeth have an extensive back catalogue now and they need someone who can keep the style of 5 other drummers (besides himself) grounded and in one place. Samuelson, Behler, Menza, Degrasso, Colaiuta...he's in seriously good company here. I trust Mustaines judgement when it comes to Megadeth. And for the record, I didn't like him at first either.
ok im a drummer and megadeth is probably my favorite band. yes i will agree he could add some of his own style to the old megadeth songs. but his stuff on endgame kicks ass. he does his job well which is keep the beat and keeping it steady. that is the main purpose for drummers

It can send a tingle up and down your spine. Menza had it. Drover doesn't. Drover's skilled, but he's no artist and he doesn't belong in MegaDeth.

@GPz84 Jimmy plays hard, but Shawn is more accurate and sticks to Megadeth's style. Degrasso adds his own flavor, but fills in weird spots. BTW its spelled MEGADETH.

@Chester1004 really menza was influence by louie bellson,buddy rich among others..jazz players and watch him with soultone...he plays manly jazz stuff.
He is a great Drummer and has a really cool Style to play. He makes it look so easy. In my opinion, he is the best Drummer ever in Megadeth after Nick Menza.

Samuelson, Behler, Menza, Degrasso, Colaiuta...he's in seriously good company here. I trust Mustaines judgement when it comes to Megadeth. And for the record, I didn't like him at first either.

ok im a drummer and megadeth is probably my favorite band. yes i will agree he could add some of his own style to the old megadeth songs. but his stuff on endgame kicks ass. he does his job well which is keep the beat and keeping it steady. that is the main purpose for drummers

@6393dude No. No, it isn't. A drummer's job is to be an integral part of the band. To make his kit, style and sound work in harmony with the rest of the band. When all members of the band are playing in harmony, it's the kind of stuff you can feel in your bones, in your muscles. It can make the hair stand up on the back of your neck. It can send a tingle up and down your spine. Menza had it. Drover doesn't. Drover's skilled, but he's no artist and he doesn't belong in MegaDeth.

@aaronalwines well.. that's because his drums are so easy to play...they are almost basic. anyone with a few years in the drums can play that. and even when he create that drums.. he screw really bad in live.
I saw them a few times so I can tell you that...
I like megadeth, I like'em so bad... I grew listing his albums and stuff.. and I can tell you.. he's one of the worst drummers in deth's history.
I'm not looking for some death hiper complex jazz progresive metal... 'coz I am drummer too

I'm just looking for that almost killer songs from deth's past... and with shawn I don't feel that. I heard holy wars played by him.. and, god... it sucks!. Hangar 18, Sweating bullets, etc... he's trying to emulate the album versions and he can't! maybe if he adds his own ideas to the songs... they would sound great, but he doesn't!
Anyway.. I don't like shawn..

if he sucked at playing those old megadeth songs, then the whole song would sound bad live, cause the drums are a very important part of the music, but no, megadeths songs all sound awesome live, that means that Shawn is doing his job right, hes supposed to try to play the closest to what the past drummers did and keep the music from falling apart, if you want to see his style just check out songs from Endgame or United Abominations

@GPz84 Jimmy plays hard, but Shawn is more accurate and sticks to Megadeth's style. Degrasso adds his own flavor, but fills in weird spots. BTW its spelled MEGADETH.

Shawn is a great drummer he almost reminds me of Chuck Behler. But he needs to make his drum louder. Comparing old drumming Deth to New Drumming Deth the drums were way louder and had more punch to it

even if Shawn is the worst, all the drummers Megadeth ever had were amazing, including Shawn, and hes actually one of my personal favs drummers form Megadeth along with Nick and Gar, but Jimmy Degrasso and Chuck Behler are also great
and if you count Vinnie Colaiuta he can be their best ever, but he just played on The System Has Failed and nothing more
if i had to choose their worst it would be Chuck, but hes great too

I respect your opinion man but Drover doesnt belong in the category as Gar, Menza and Degrasso.
Gar was probably most talented drummer, he gave Megadeth the jazz felling and sound.
Menza is expert at speed and double bass, you hear big improvement in speed at Rust in Peace.
Degrasso- talent, speed and songwriting.
The reason why i dont like Drover is because he looks like he makes every Megadeth song x10 slower and there wasnt any epic drumming on UA or Endgame.
