The critter the appears the most is my "hero" critter. He's a cable operated hand puppet capable of various facial expressions. He has a steel skeleton and silicone skin. His eyes move back and forth, lips curl into a snarl, eyebrows move up and down, and his eye lids blink. Also, his mouth opens and closes.
I made this short film years ago. At some point in time, I had problems with sounds that were loud on the sound track. So, there are parts where the sound effects and music go in and out. I never did figure out what happened, but it screwed up the film.

Different sources. One was commissioned by me and made by an FX artist, another one was made for Critters 1, Another one was mass produced by New Line Cinema, I made the critter balls.
This was done using AlamDV2 I believe. AlamDV2 was an old program that would allow basic compositing and manipulation of simple CGI objects. I have to warn you that what you see here is old. Most of what you see here can be done using programs like particle illusion, FXhome products, blender, etc. All said programs are free to cheap programs.

The puppets you see here aren't easy to come by, and since a couple of them are 1 of a kind, you can't buy them anywhere. None of these puppets can be purchased anywhere.

Glad to hear you had fun watching it! The puppets are fun. I'm a big animation fan. Stop motion, animatronics, CGI. bringing inadimate objects to life is fun. Giving them character is even more fun.
