I'm at a boarding school and it's so annoying how much they block. They're blocked more shit this year and now one of my favourite photographers (and inspiration for many of my major works) is blocked because it's "sexually explicit". Argh I could die- I do not look at his work for the nudity but for the colour, contrast and total off-beat feeling of his work. BLOCKING SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED.

The fact of the matter is that the "child porn" the government loves talking about so much can be obtained by the sick freaks via Peer to Peer, eg: Limewire, BitTorrents, so on and so forth. None of this stuff runs through a ISP server.

Just clearing a few things up; Labor Government followed through with this idea from the previous government, so changing governments will do nothing. Also they are blocking World of Warcraft and Steam, 2 massive needs for gamers. To add insult to injury they are blocking all pornographic material be it child pornography or not. Gambling and drugs too. You cannot police the internet. Spending 42$+ AUS dollars when I can get a re-route to the US in 2minutes WILL SOLVE NOTHING.

Government censorship is purported to be for the people but I believe the safety and wellbeing of the people are the lowest priority of censorship proponents. Having everything blown wide open with no laws enforced would would be bad and children do need protection, but the way the web works now is restrictive enough, we don't need it to get worse.
