I attended a memorial service last weekend where they played this song at the end. The woman who died had requested that it be played at her funeral. I was amazed that I'd never heard it before-- it's a beautiful song, and it was a perfect tribute.
There have been many covers of this great Phil Ochs song, but I keep coming back to this version by Kim and Reggie and Magpie. It just doesn't get any better.
@GoodOldGar Can't disagree with you. It's been my blessing to experience Kim & Reggie, and Greg & Terri perform this live a few times....difficult to hold back the tears, though they be tears of joy.
The closing song to The Midnight Special every week. One of my favorite reasons for listening.
