  • I recently got a sugar glider and she is so aggressive. She always trying to bite me. What do I do? I wanna be able to hold her so She could get used to me but everytime I try she jumps at me and trys to bite me. Someone help.... Please!

  • :/ I need a tent lol guess im off to WalMart ^.^ hehe i'll sneak in my suggies XP. O.O I LOVE them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm a new suggie owner I got one and she was my only suggie for about a month and I noticed she wasnt happy (even though I was spending ALOT of time with her) so i got her a sister all I had to do to make them bond instantly was rub the new one through my hair and on my skin and the older one was all over her loving on her.

  • This vid was uploaded on my birthday!! WOOOHOOO! Good idea rcems

  • How do you clean it after a while. Thats the only reason I dont use one because i dont want to clean it. How often do you clean yours. Please someone help me

  • I turn mine inside out and put it in the washer machine then hang it out to dry.

  • Thank you for clarifying that. You are right. Some gliders are nibblers while other are not. Mine is. She is always nibbling on things out of curiosity. This is why some people go as far as glider-proofing a room. If they should chew through an electrical cord... The outcome is not good. The trust and bond between us is strong and she listens well. They say they can't be trained, but they will respond to voice and smell. I have taught her the word "No". She stops what ever she was doing.

  • I just have a some questions, because we(me and my husband) are thinking about getting pair of sugar gliders.

1.If I wear perfume will that mean they won't trust me because I don't smell like I usally do?

2.If their pouch becomes smelly and I have to wash it, will they not use it or get stressed because it does not smell like them or me? (So would you suggest having more than one pouch?)

    3. Is there smaller cages so if we go on the road they'll be safe and not get injured?

    Thank you

  • 1) If that is what you normally wear then as long as it isn't toxic to them then it should not be a problem. I have heard of people who quit smoking having to re-bond with their Suggies because of their smell changing.

  • 3) Mine are not chain saw Gliders so I am able to use Reptariums. Gliders are NOT rodents their teeth do NOT constantly grow they do NOT chew like rodents. Yes there are smaller cages to use for transporting and then slightly larger ones for travel.

  • 2) You should have many pouches and get some fleece material and cut them up to where they are Glider Size Blankets. After you wash them tuck them under your cloths against your skin and wear them around all day to absorb your body oder. Make sure any place they want to sleep always smells like you.

  • Thank you so much for answering my questions. You've really helped us out, we're very concered about them since they require alot of work to take care of. So once again thanks! :)

  • I take my glider to work with me every day. During the day she stays in a pouch purchase from a pet store or ebay. Get one with a zipper if you can.

Deodorant is fine, but I stayed away from ca lone till she got use to my sent. Once they get your basic sent, they will recognize that through the perfume. As long as it is not to strong.

I have a couple of pouches. Just wash them with your cloths. The detergent smell is all ready on your cloths. They feel at home with that smell as well.

  • you can use a smaller cage for travel. If it is during their sleeping time, (my glider is sleeping from 8AM till 10PM) a pouch will do just fine. For night travel, the larger the cage the better. They need to be able to run and jump around for exercise. They will need at least a running wheel and some toys to climb or nibble on.

Let me know if you have any other questions...

  • "nibble on." Do not mistake a Sugar Glider for a rodent their teeth do NOT constantly grow. Their teeth are like ours in the way that if they loose one it is gone forever. Never float a Sugar Gliders teeth and the belief that they constantly chew like rodents is a myth. Please do not confuse the two.

  • I found this as my two suggies are curled up in their bonding pouch I made around my neck. When I first got them, they of course were horribly un-socialized. We rescued them from a family that just didn't know what they were doing. But long story short, it took three months before they would crawl on us of their own choices confortably and that Tent trick is what did it. Because in there, the safe zone is the person. they had real fun with it. ^-^

  • I agree.. I like your voice.. And it adds a personal touch to the video.. Your voice show the love you have for these animals. The computer sounds cold and doesnt sounds sompassionate.

  • this is wonderfull info! even without the media. you can probally find pictures that you can save to your computer by searching on google images. all you have to do is right click on the pic and click save picture as. hope this helps

  • I want people I know or people who want to be in these videos to send me their stuff to add and to suggest placement. I want to be able to say that is Boo-Boo Danyell's Suggie. That is what I am looking for I do not want to have to deal with copyright junk.

  • ok.

  • Interesting video, so far, but the computerized voice is annoying. Just my opinion.

  • I agree, that the computer voice can be and is annoying to some people. Perhaps someone with a good reading voice would like to record themselves reading the original text. If so holler at me and I will send you a link to where you can read the article she wrote.

  • Oh, I certainly understand what you mean. I'm from a small East Texas farm town and don't have the best voice for "recording", unless you want someone who sounds like a cross between Rhett Butler and Gomer Pyle! Good luck!!! :)

  • ive heard your other instructional videos...just read it yourself...i cant stand that voice
