  • kool vid!

check us out for the latest Hawx preview!

  • is it hard to play?

  • you'll get use to it just

  • This is a game, and as such is designed to be easier to use than a simulator. I noticed on the video full control displacement, something no real pilot would do unless absolutely necessary, which comes to show that the aircraft is controlled with the keyboard. For a full experience, one needs a decent joystick with a throttle slider( a MS Sidewinder is a good start) and about an hour's worth of practice. In the hands of an experienced pilot, with no aids, this game should put up quite a show!!!

  • Experienced pilot????

You speak like you've actually flown these things.

  • @AftComet I don't specialise in millitary aircraft(i.e. fighter jets), but I know people who do and I have had a fair amount of experience on the millitary training simulators(ones that DO handle like the real thing). As for real aircraft - I have recently got a solo flight in a two seater powered aircraft, but other than that i have now over 750 hours on CAA spec simulations, so I know what to expect out of most situations.

  • Hmm I actually havent played it - what I see - a bit better than Hawx, but still a bit too arcade stylish. Lock On really makes you feel like what the real thing should be about - but it also lacks some sideline history - "Strike Commander" - that was an awsome storyline, where you earned money as a fighterpilot for hire and made deals with the IRS as on the sideline making your own storyline. Think the gameplay of beeing a slave to a storyline which is only made out of cutscenes is shallow.

  • Too much arcadestyle and lack of realism to my taste - I pass and go on playing Lock On

  • What do you think of Ace Combat?

  • this is the NFS of flight games, I love it.

  • Cool!
