  • Hey Nikita!

I love your work! Also, the fact that you don't do like so many others "supposed" Poets, and make every other line rhyme with elementary vocabulary/syntax makes me love it even more! 5*'s...start publishing!!!

    ~Jules

  • Jules! Thank you very much!

(I can tend to be rather unconventional at the best of times!)

  • So I've been told. I'm really just a lost soul with no direction... LOL!

    Thanks for the compliment!

  • You are not lost dear Niki, as your soul is guided and comforted even though we don't not always see the hand that protects us.

    Peace,

    Allen

  • I joking about being a lost soul, but thanks for the nice sentiment.

  • I like your poem, Nikita!

  • Thank you Shirley! It's nearly 21 years old! This is the 1st light of day it's seen!

  • So do you have more poems you're holding back from us?

    ;)

  • Only about 200 or so.... Seriously...

  • Girl... start posting them! Or publish a book!

  • The book would have to be separate. I also have several short stories and one novel. All unpublished.

  • That was awesome!

    Thought you might like to know that the 3rd verse in the sidebar is missing a line;

Far and wide, vast is the sea.

    5*

  • Awesome reading Nikita! You are a true poet!

I do have to say that your background gave me flash backs to Chris Crockers stuff though! ;-)

  • LOL!!! Maybe I'll hang a paisley sheet next time! Ha ha ha!!!

  • very beautiful poem

  • Thank you very much!

  • This would make a great John Denver song!

  • Too bad his plane went down....

  • Do you play guitar?

  • I wish. My whole family are musicians and my husband is a musician. I was taking guitar lessons as a child but then my index finger was torn off in a door and I gave up.

Aren't you happy you asked? LOL!

  • Were you able to get it sown back on?

Was it on your chord playing hand? Jerry Garcia had a missing finger also, but on his strumming hand.

  • It died by the time the surgeon arrived to the hosp. It was thrown out.

Pickin' hand, but I couldn't use my hand or sit down for a couple of months and had to learn to do every thing with my left hand. At the time of the rawness of the injury I don't think I was interested any more. I had lots of painful complications with it later in life as well. It's been good now though for about 15 years.

  • I'm glad it has healed well.

You mentioned your husband plays guitar. Perhaps he could write a few chords down, and you could use these lyrics. Sort of like elton john and bernie tuapin.

  • That could work except that my husband absolutely 100% refuses to have anything to do with me being on YouTube! LOL! He's disturbed by the fact that I do this.

Well actually, he did help me with Iggy's Xmas Collab, so I guess it might be possible. ....

Hmm.. would I be Elton or Bernie???

  • Well, you would have to wear both shoes, I think. See, Elton used to write the melodies and sing, and Bernie used to write all the lyrics. So, if you use your poem lyrics and sing, and your husband writes the melody, then, um, wait, yeah, um, forget it.

  • Yae! Let's just all smile and hold hands and sing Lola around a camp fire!

    HOW AWESOME WOULD THAT BE!!!????!!!

Okay! official! Looking for a collab for about 10 people and 1 guitar player to do LOLA by the KINKS! ....SWEET!

  • L-O-L-A LOLA!!

  • lo lo lola

I walked up to her and she asked me to dance...

  • I feel the power lustful optimism.

  • Lustful optimism? As long as your feelin' it!

  • Hello,Nikita.

This is a wonderful poem. I could not imagine how one could unearth a fossil, and make it beautiful.

  • Why thank you Blargal for your lovely comment!

  • Bueatiful poem, beautifully delivered.

  • Thank you J!

  • You have the soul of a poet in the face of a poem.

  • Too sweet!
