  • That lick at 1:07 is great!!

  • Awesome! Saying the most with the least amount of notes is a dying art in modern guitar playing for sure...

  • Wow, that slow blues was great stuff.

  • Larry is brilliant!

  • one of the greatest

  • From What Dvd is This?

  • @maty7976321 Hey, I got it from a cd/dvd in an issue of Guitarist magazine, i cant remember which issue though

  • woooooowwwwwwww!!!!!

  • the siren in the beginning is in tune as well

  • @davidgrech1 lool..

  • I'm glad I put my guitar away before listening to this, because I might have smashed it after 2:56.

  • Good stuff!

  • Love it

  • 2 people 4got to switch on the volume

  • The think about great musicians is that they don't have a prime age. Larry has been progressing longer than I have been born, and although he's still got alot of life in him, but when he's gone there's going to be so much more he could have contributed to music. Music: The Untamable Beast. His tone is out of this frickin world.

  • When I die and go to Heaven, I want to be able to play Guitar like the master himself.

  • Larry - the man! Years from now I hope that 335 Gibson guitar of his winds up in the Smithsonian. He is one very talented musician.

  • 1:49 to 3:13 Awesome!!! Larry is my hero,, great guitarist,,great man...

  • Mr 335..cops want him to register his fingers as dangerous weapons...and his plectrum WOMAD.

  • One of the most melodic, tasteful players around - no question!

  • I could listen to the suspended vamp section all day and all day tomorrow and the next day and the next!!!! Gorgeous!

  • two people should be shot dead

  • Beautiful!

  • the run at like 1.06 is so tasty.

  • Larry C..Mr ES 335

  • Looks like a Gibson ES-335. Am I right?

  • The part i like the most: 1:13 - 1:22.

  • "Something I always like to share with other guitar players is my idea of getting the most the music out of the least amount of information..."

I wish more guitarists would take this lesson to heart.

  • 1:08 - 1:13 is amazing :D

  • Does anyone know the chord that Larry plays right after he plays those octave chords at 2:26?

  • @oneoctavedown it is a Gmaj7 (1 3 7) without the fifth!!

  • @oneoctavedown it is a Gmaj7 (1 3 7) without the fifth!!

  • 1:14-1:23 wonderful idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • simply beautiful

  • Careful boys, Larry Carlton and Robben Ford both have highly addictive qualities.

  • He really knows how to have fun with his toys

  • He just blew my mind with that BB King sounding blues stuff around 5 minutes in. Larry is a monster

  • siren makes nice ambience

  • "Pity about the pyscho christian wife". What is that all about gibsondr100?

  • yeah. wots that all about?!

  • a great player and a really nice guy. Pity about the pyscho christian wife.

  • If you want taste, space, feel - and tone, larry is the man...

  • this is not kind of jazz

  • Hi, Very Beautiful moment with Larry...Very beautiful sound, Pure ES 335 Sound, I love it...

    Peace.

    Stephane.

  • Does he have an album where he does jazz like this? Or standards?

I've only heard him playing with synths and cheesy stuff.

  • @Semach4444 The live album Last Night has him doing a couple Miles DAvis tunes, and his jazz stamp seems to be all over that album. By many accounts his best, without all the slick smooth jazz overproduction. That said, I love a lot of that stuff, particularly his stuff with Fourplay.

  • @Semach4444

That Live from the Baked Potato album (Last Nite) is really nice. Includes two covers of Miles' Kind of Blue tunes.

  • @Semach4444 really good question, i agree with you! thats why is not in my personal top guitarrist list with wes, grant green, burrell, zoller, etc

  • @Semach4444 sapphire blues is pretty dam good. more blues than jazz tho

  • @Semach4444 Sapphire Blue

  • Fire Wire is a good album by him, without synths and effects and stuff.

  • @Semach4444 that would be the best album ever lol

  • @Semach4444 Try his live recording 'Last Nite' for a couple of Miles standards and more straight forward guitar work.

  • woah. What a guitarist

  • 2:48 - 3:00 Feels' home;)

  • Larry you are the man!!! What an influence your music is to many musicians.

  • damn...that bend on 1:11 ....

  • what's the siren in the background in the beginning??

    I bet it's the police.

They're chasing him because he has been formerly accused of to god-like guitar playing.

  • haha, thats the only reason that i can think for there being a siren, i think they're all jealous.

  • & they do indeed have every right to be ;)

  • I know I'm jealous! But in a good-hearted non-hater way. Larry is awesome.

  • @EFK1990 Shit, I thought the cops were going to bust my front door open when I heard that...

  • @FunkerPunkerJunker formerly?? He's a convict man. A convict in the prison of epic guitar playing that is :-P

  • Larry Carlton is still my favorite guy on the guitar. I do not know how he comes up with such incredible phrasings. But, HE ALWAYS DOES. 5 stars plus infinity :-)

  • that just hit me when I listened to this. Like his phrasing is just amazing! so damn tasty!

  • You're right man it is!

  • Great
