  • so awesome! great tutorial! i cant wait to make some explosion gifts!!!

  • Nice Can you make a paper slice of cake? .. ( Make a video on how to make a paper slice of cake)

  • please can you give me the adresse of the another video, where you make the rest of this ^^ think you it's fantastique

  • Couldn't you always just use two sheets of paper instead of three?

  • @53Jsams

    yes, you sure can!

  • Can you do this with a 9x12 or would that be too small?

  • @MELISSASEESSTARS

You could do that. It would end up being more rectangular in shape rather than a square cute. If you want to do 9X12, just score every 3 inches on the 9" side and every 4" on the 12 inch side. OR you could cut your paper down to 9x9 to make a cube and score every 3 inches . Either way, you would end up with a smaller box than the one in the video, but lots of people make smaller boxes.

  • @irvinehouse

Forgot to say that you'd have to figure out the dimensions for the top, since the dimensions I give in the video wouldn't fit a smaller box.

  • Would it turn out the same if I used Acid Free Paper instead of cardstock?

  • @sami5810

you just want to use a sturdy paper that will hold up to lots of handling.

  • what If youu Don't have Those Stock Thingyss ? .

  • If your craft I used this technique for speacial things

  • I liked so cute!!!!!

  • c est tres clair ca peut etre l objet d un projet merci beaucoup et bravo

  • Su cajita es una belleza, gracias por el tutorial.

  • beautifulll! i like it! =D

  • thank toy so much for this im going to try them

  • waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw

  • Out of everyone posting I have seen, you have the best explination of how to do it. Thank you and I look forward to making one with my daughter.

  • use your brains people--you dont need cutting boards and scoring blades to make art. this is sad. cant people figure this out on their own? of course you can make a bigger box. you can make this as big as you want. how about using an acutal box, how about making your own box out of pieces of cardbaord omg. i'm astonished by the tininess of these questionss

  • lOve this .. thank you sO much...I'm gonna try this out

  • pleaseee pleasee tell me if i can make it any bigger...and if possible what measures would you recomend? thank you :)

  • @NikiKaulitz007

You need a single sheet of square cardstock for your base. You are limited by the size of cardstock you can find. I can only obtain 12x12, so that limits my size. If you can find larger cardstock, you can make a larger explosion box. I varied each layer by 1/4" in the video, but you can make each layer 1/2" smaller and whatever you want.

  • @irvinehouse thank you so much..i finished up my explosion box :) and it turned out so beautiful..thank you very much!

  • that... is... EPIC!! :D

  • can you please make a video for beginners : ) this was kinda hard for me

  • love it. i'm going to try it out

  • Will you be offering this as an explosion box kit? I'm really interested :)

  • @ChineseRm

The papers I used to design this are no longer available. Give it a try with papers you have on hand. It's fun and makes a good weekend afternoon project :)

  • that was awesome, where did you get your cutting board?

  • @inuyasha71235

I don't remember the cutting board showed in the video, but I have two different ones ( a green and a grey one that I got at Tuesday Morning). The huge white grid paper I work on in many of the videos is from Stampin Up. It is sold in a pad of 100 sheets. One pad last a LONG time.

  • Hi! I love your project could you please write me down the measures of each layer and the top? I couldn't get them all... thanks!!

  • @karovi88

The layers for the box are 12x12, 11.75x11.75, and 11.5x11.5 and you score each paper at the 4 inch mark on each side.

For the top of the box, you need cardstock that measures 7 1/8x 7 1/8 inches and you score at the 1.5inch mark on each side.

Hope that helps you. I've added annotation notes to my video for future viewers.

  • Thank you for sharing! great demonstration I have now made one for my mum now doing one for my niece :)

  • i made a smaller one [using 6 by 6 squares].. :)))

  • Wow! I didn't know you could make them that small. I bet it's really cute :)

  • @irvinehouse well, I really like how it came out. but I'm not yet done... It's for a friend of mine :)

  • Do you have a method to help figure out where to score & How big to make each paper? I'd like to do these in various sizes and was wondering if there is a formula to it? The first one I'm doing will be a 12X12 then I think a 8X8.

  • @prendergastc83

You can make the base of your box as large or small as you want. Then I just make each layer slightly smaller than the base layer.

  • 13Lilswagger,

You don't need to round the outer edge corners if you don't wish. But I would recommend using glue on your lid. You could try the double sided tape but I worry that it won't be strong enough and over time the lid would undo itself. Hope that helps you. Lisa

  • Thank you so much for uploading this video. Im just starting out and really want to try this but i have two questions.

1- after you cut out the outter squares on your 12' by 12' sheets of paper do you have to round them?

2- For the top do you have to use glue to do the edges or can I use double sided tape?

    Please write back (:

  • holaaa lo podrias subtitular en español??¿¿ gracias

  • Tfs. Nice tut

  • I have been having trobel I dident understand how to do the top this helped me figur out how :)

  • who put that dislike theres always an idot! love it! very unique thanks for the tutorial!

  • hi i love this :) where can i buy the card and designer paper from. i am new at doing crafts so need to go out and get some supplies x x

  • You would score it at 3" all around, so that you'd end up with 9 3" squares, like a tic tac toe grid. HTH Lisa

  • hi!! I wanted to ask you how do I score a 9x9 paper?

please give the right size...or where do I score it...pls...

    tnx ~april

  • This was so simple. Thanks for sharing your ideas. I loved it!

  • This was extremely informative! Thanks! ♥ Michelle

  • @bexxiiiibex; Are yu using only 1 cardstock for the base? It might not be heavy enough Because she used like 3 cardstocks + glued pattern paper/embelishments on it, so it makes it really heavy.. Maybe your cardstock isn't heavy enough. Try using more than 1 cardstock, if not then more(:

    Hope this helps!

  • What type of paper did you use?

  • which works better glue or dbl side tape?!

  • when you do this.. and add more box inside do you have to make each box smaller..

  • Comment removed

  • Hey

    i wanted to ask

I have only paper sizes: 8 inch by 11.5 inch

can u tell me where to score plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ??

  • @TheSmeaky

You can only make explosion boxes from square sheets of paper. So, you'd have to cut your paper to 8x8 for your largest layer and score at 2 2/3". Your next layer would probably slightly smaller than 8x8 (maybe 7 7/8 or 7 3/4), and you'd still score at 2 2/3". And your next layer even smaller than that. Your lid top would be about 4 1/4" score at 3/4" all around--I'm estimating on the lid, youll have to play with it. This will be one small box. Probably not good for pics.

  • @irvinehouse

    Thank u so much :)

    i started now :)))

    xoxox

  • @irvinehouse Thanksssss
