  • Burned $6 of butter- def need clearer instructions!!

  • Eating fat doesn't cause or contribute to obesity or diabetes, sugar does. Fat is good and healthy for us.

  • @wccrispy That's true. It will even cure obesity. Check out the free book called eat fat, get thin in .pdf format. Americans aren't mainly fat btw, they are carrying the heavy burden of disease due to eating wrong foods for the blood type, avoiding fat, and eating un-natural foods.

  • @AsunderCleft I've read about blood types and there is no evidence to support it. As a theory it is neat but it was just an idea that made a guy money. Human biology doesn't change significantly because of blood type. We are all made to be perfectly healthy by consuming, meat, eggs, poultry, fish, fat, vegetables and fruit. Other foods are inflammatory and cause disease i.e. sugar leading to heart disease.

  • Sometimes I make ghee, but I find that making it myself takes too much time. As a yoga teacher, Ancient Organics brand is the only kind I use for Ayurvedic recipes (Panchakarma/Shatkarma, Yogic practices). The butter they use is higher quality that any kind I can buy at the grocery store. It's a small local company near Berkeley CA, and the cooks chant Vedic Mantras over it during the production process. I would highly recommend Ancient Organics if you don't have lots of time to make it.

  • this is just melted butter!!

  • This is awsome- ghee has half the fat of butter!

  • @LadyNemesis2007

This is not true. Ghee is more fat than butther, cause when you make Ghee, what you do is basically eliminate caseine, lactose and water.

  • to leave the spoon in it while cooking is: ..... *grmpfl*

    (beside some other mistakes)

  • Sorry . This is not the way to make Ghee in Ayurvedic style. 'Ghritam ya vardhateh ayur ". Not in this way. If you want to make REAL Ghee, find Organic Full fat Cow milk.

boil and cool it. then make Curds/yogurt wiith milk. then add water and make buttermilk. churn it to get butter out of it. then heat it in heavy bottom pan. THATS Ghee made in Ayurvedic style. Long way . the butter sticks used in this vid are direct product of churning milk.

  • Watch davidbrucehughes 15min video *****

  • I don't agree on her method it needs to be heated and skimmed again until the oil is clear with no fat

  • What temperature did you use to melt the ghee?

  • i'm lazy, I buy it from the store...

  • I tried it today with 2 layers normal kitchen paper in a stainer(best without inc). Ghee is far superior to any "healthy" olive oil, cause the saturated fats don't go bad like the highly reactive unsatured fats in plant oils. The vedic culture was far superior than anything that came up in the west. It is really a wonderful ingredient

  • Agreed!

  • and then you woke up!!!!

  • Do you have to use cheesecloth?

It seems as if in the video you only used a stainer...

  • I never heard of ghee before. So I tried this and was really surprised. Great to fry eggs, potatoes, fried rice, stir fry, or add for flavor to a lot of things. You really got to try this. Get some cheesecloth, strain it into a jar and you got it! Smells wonderful! Tastes wonderful!

  • thannx

  • Excellent! :) Super precise and simple. Good job. Keep them coming.
