@scubadaz1973 Thanks Scubz ;) Here I was using my DS-1 with the tone at 9:30, volume at 3:00 and the gain at 4:00. You can hear that I clicked in my cry baby half way through the solo but I also changed to my neck p/u at that point as well, like Steve does occasionally (I think...). On the small peavey amp that I used (If it helps you at all) the bass was at 12:00, Middle at 10:00 and treble at about 1:00 (basically scooped mid with slight treble boost) The amp was clean... and that was it :)
@bobGuitarMancliffe thanks, i`ll give it a try later, the EQ is more or less what I use, not used distortion and OD pedals in a while cos my JVM does it so much better than the pedals. i`ll have to dig out the Satchurator lol.
nice work Bob, what EQ setting were you using, cos I can`t get close to a authentic Vai tone, even with a Jem
