Justin, in your video you say to play G, D, and Am for a whole bar each and C and D for two strums only. Your book shows C and D just as evenly spaced as the G and D. If it wasn't for the video, the book would be very misleading/vague especially for a beginner. It would have been better if the book had used slash notation then it could stand alone. Thanks for the video though. It explained what the book left out...

Good song choice. Oasis has a nice pool of songs to choose from that translate well to good strumming tunes.
